Hi! New Member here. Glad to be part of this community. I've got a 2005 Toyota Tacoma 4X4. Manual Transmission. I'm looking at purchasing a Class A motorhome and want to tow my Tacoma 4 wheels down behind it. The Owner's Manual says NO! Why can't it be put in neutral and unhook the battery and go? Thanks for your replies.

The transmission will not lubricate properly unless in gear.

Basically you'll burn your manual trans up by allowing the drive wheels on the ground.

Take a look at this video. (You don't need to watch it all)

Imagine if you will those bottom gears spinning with no synchronization from the clutch/engine. Not a good thing.
