I'm a volunteer firefighter and a Scott air pak technician.. I can't say anything about msa but as far as Scott goes they have a lot of different features you can add and subtract to change the weight of them..

About 10 yrs haz mat (EHS, field chemist), and 4 years tow truck operator/emergency road service. Had my 1st encounter with a heroin overdose a few weeks ago, when a sheriff deputy, called me out to unlock an abandoned van with a corpse sitting in the front seat. She had been sitting in a back lot of a department store in the employee parking area for three weeks, and no one reported it.

I did brief stints as a wildland firefighter and EMT-B years ago. Now I just drop by buddies' houses and eat all their good food.

Always get disappointed whenever I'm in a hospital now that I no longer have the codes to the EMS breakrooms. Seems there's a theme here. I like food.

    What is that beast??

All three of my squads used Lucas "Thump Thumps"

Have you guys seen any of the new "squeeze" machines?

All I wear now is the Arcadia, wore that style my last two years on an ambulance, switched to the steel toed Arcadia when I started working at the training center.

Those look like one hell of a boot... how's the sole last on those?

Well see that is the problem. They all had gloves on. And they touched the patient, that was it. We see it all day every day as well, overdoses are nothing new to us. This however is new, not sure if you caught the part that it is "Gray death" the Heroin laced with carfentanyl..

It's a Michigan Instruments Thumper. Works great. Tube the patient and hook it up then sit back for 25 miles to the hospital giving drugs. Thumper's have been out since the 70's. This one is 2 years old.

Seen them and talked to plenty of friends that use the squeeze one's. The don't call them auto-pukes for nothing.

Nope. Closest hospital is 25 miles away. I work out in the country and we don't have a hospital in our county.

It's pretty awesome. We get to give drugs and actually watch them work. Cardiac's get the whole box dropped on them. We've pretty much fixed a bunch of patient's by time we get to the hospital.

Those are the ones that don't want to go to the ER. It's the ones on clear days and low speed that have the most complaints
