Sweet! 8/6 sounds like a plan to me!!! I've been wanting to try out the Lone Star Gun Range in Lockhart...They are the cheapest around it seems...bit of a drive...yes...BUT LOCKHART BBQ AFTERWARDS!!!!!!! A friend of mine also says they are the least likely to mess with you out on the range and they have the best selection of rental firearms he's ever seen.

He is right, they let you be if you don't act stupid....

I prefer the tactical bays at best in the west though.

Lone Star is one of my favorites. It's an awesome little gun range in Lockhart.

Oh, and it's down a dirt road. So fits the off-road requirement.

I can bring the sub compacts; Glock 27 and a Springfield XDs 9mm. And a lil .22 plinker (Walther P22).

I've been there a couple times, I like the price and that it's pretty open. Most of the time it seems the range is run more by the those shooting than the range master and I've only felt crowded once, but that was with a large group.
Just something to be aware of if you're taking new people.

I invited my dad too, hope that's alright. We're both novices as can be. We have a .22 he's taken out a few times and I went to a range once when I was in high school, but that's about all the experience I have besides going black ops with my pellet guns growing up. So excited to get introduced to something new!

I want to carry in a couple months when I turn 21 but pretty much just for self defense so would definitely be open to some input. Something I can keep locked in my truck.

Then maybe shooting some cool stuff too just cause it's badass :D

Probably wouldn't be a regular thing for me but definitely want to go out every other month or so, and learn my way around firearms in general since I don't know jack shit

If I can make it I'm a self proclaimed expert I'll be more than happy to let ya shoot mine. I'm not good at much but marksmanship is at the top my shot group is tighter than a ducks butthole.
