I want to derp my bumper caps and stock wheels this weekend. I see people talk a lot about the temperature as it relates to plasti-dip performance.
Looks great! Plan to do my stock wheels and bumper caps this weekend. What's the deal with the temp and plasti-dip? I'm in Dallas and it's going to be high 90's. Is that a problem? Did my emblems and grille earlier this year when it was considerably cooler, no issues. TIA.

i did my pinch weld about 3 weeks ago, it was hot, but did it in the shade and it went on great and has held across a 2500mi road trip. i didn't use the spray, i used the liquid for painting on.

I did mine last weekend in 92 degree weather. Turned out great. No problems.

How do you like your OEM rack? Thinking about pulling the trigger. I have heard mixed reviews but I don't need anything heavy duty, just something for surfboards.

    Like, so many.
Plastidip can clump if it gets too cold. I usually leave my cans in warm water when I'm derping to ensure a really fine mist.

Just dipped my grille. I liked the way it looked when the sun wasn't shining up the black chrome so I shot it with graphite.

Just did my grill like it much better. For the life of me I could remove from frame so just taped and sprayed.

And plan on doing my rims soon... maybe today if I don't get to busy.

Just the inside part. I'm not a big fan of chrome but somehow a little bit seems to look good with the orange.

    What a fun truck!
Dipped my wheels, grill and emblems. I'm pretty happy with it but the wheels are starting to peel off after a few months.

Could be because I rushed it or maybe didn't clean the wheels enough, but I sure like the look of it.

You think one can of plasti dip is enough to do the grille and side badges?

No, I would grab at least one can for the grill, and one can for the badges. Remember, you should be doing a minimum of 4 coats on each item. Be generous in your application, because you only want to have to do this once.

I used about 3 quarters or slightly more in black for grill. So for grill and badges is say you need 2 cans of color spray. 1 can glossy if you want to use glossifier which I actually really like the look with it.

That looks really well done. I'm thinking of doing the flares as well. Did you remove from the vehicle or cover and spray?
