It should go in some sort of hall of fame when it's days are done.

Gonna do the "pay it forward" thingy. Put it on truck #3!

The longer I do this shit, the more I DON'T like deep water/mud. It's fun.....for about 20 seconds.....Then things start going wrong. Bearing failures, seal failures, overheating....electrical gremlins. The alleged "fun" is offset by the "anti-fun" of rolling around in the driveway fixing the shit that breaks. 40+ years ago, when I LOVED spinning wrenches and parts were still cheap, this was OK. Not so much now days. I'd rather wheel on a dry, even dusty mountain road, than deal with the aftermath of blasting through 4' of muddy water.

And if I NEVER have to clean up muddy, wet carpet again, it will make me a happy man. Just not the fun that once was either.

Next time we go as a group, pay attention to the fact that I'm the one crawling through mud holes 99.9% of the time, slow, under control, and maintaining traction. Seems to do less collateral damage, and in most cases, easier to get from point A to point B. There are occasions where it takes skinny pedal....But that's far less often than is commonly practiced.

Write it all off to 45 years of driving through mud holes for shits and giggles. I've learned how to get the results I'm after. Those results may or may NOT be what others are searching for. That's why I never tell people how to drive. You do it YOUR way, I'll do it MY way. My way starts and ends with minimizing damage. It's also considerably more fun when the wife isn't perusing the checking account to see how much the LAST "fun" set us back.

I wish there was a way to get mud just on the paint. That's easy to clean. It's when I'm in gore-tex rain gear under my truck spraying down the underside that sucks :frusty:

Totally unsure of what wheels I want. Would love to have old fashion "stock" steelies, but those are unobtainium. Saw a couple designs I like that only come in 8 lug. For now we just stay with what I have.

Would like REAL beadlocks, just too expensive. Saw some @ Moab offroad that I liked.....$375 a wheel (x5=over 2k with tax and freight)

Like the plan and priorities Bill right there with ya. My wrenching has slowed quite a bit. I don't mind doing it but some shot I refuse to work on now like trannys. I'll remove and install but that is IT! Lol

I think it is common to need 1/4" spacers to clear the brake calipers. I had to run spare and grind the wheel and caliper for clearance on the ProChumps. Lesson here is don't run ProChumps lol
