What lights? What's the current draw? Running a relay is always a good idea.

How are you wiring them? 2 per switch or all 4 on 1 switch? For two lights on a switch/relay, I would run 16 gauge from the battery to the relay and to the lights. For all 4 lights, I would run 12 gauge to the relay and 16 gauge to the lights. In either case, you can use smaller 18-22 gauge for the relay control to the switch.

Mounted a light bar to my topper rack. Just had to flip one of the brackets around and it fit great. Permanent wiring to come tomorrow. I plan on wiring it through a relay from the high beam circuit. This way when I'm by myself on the road I can have all the light easily.

On a side note, does anyone know an easy place to wire a relay into the high beam circuit? Asking for a friend

Yep, SUPER easy. Wire up a relay like normal, but for pin 86, just use an add a circuit to tap into the high beam fuse in the engine bay. There's a fuse for each headlight, and it doesn't matter which one you pick. You can take it one step further and add a switch in the cab, so you can run just your high beams if you want. I did this exact set up with my last light bar, and it was clutch being able to have them turn off when I turn the high beams off.

Happy Friday fellas. If all goes as planned I'm getting my hands on a nice rack this weekend.

Exactly. I did this except with the low beams when I added fog lights to my truck. It isn't prewired for them. I'm adding ditch lights now, and I'm thinking about wiring them into the high beams. I'm not sure I want to mess with cutting into the wiring harness to find where the wire from the battery to the relay splits.

If you're using a factory style switch get a second add-a-fuse to tap into the tail light circuit for switch illumination.

Just let her read a Consumer Report on anything Jeep and she should change her mind.
