Texting and driving...f*cked my sh*t up.

This x1000. I'm as cheap as it gets and I've tried to take the DIY route with collision work. If you don't have a shop and the right tools (believe me, you don't, and it will cost as much as the repairs to buy them), then it's not going to be done right. Let the shop handle it. You're not losing any money. Everyone looks a windfall but I wouldn't do so at my Taco's expense.

 

Pray the guy that hit you doesn't have gieko. They will not pay for OEM parts, only Chinese replacement. Take your trip and shop around for repair there, hopefully their lead time will be reasonable. If close to tire just pull it away by hand before trip, very thin metal on these. Bring a case of Bud and bribe estimator to be "very thorough". Give that shop job to repair everything minus bumper and upgrade.

 

ive seen trucks come into my shop with offroad bumpers that have scratches on them and the frame is damaged

 

you would be surprised how much hidden damage can occur just from a little bump

Here's my rant from the motorcycle forums: As a motorcyclist who almost gets murdered almost daily by people lol'ing - FUCK TEXTING DRIVERS!! They're worse than drunks!

There is sooo much traffic you don't see when you're texting. Please just set your phone down and avoid killing someone's kid.

 

As a rider worst is SUV drivers or truckers with large mirrors who cut from carpool to regular lanes over double yellow as we are lane splitting

I regularly give them the bird

 

Or when someone gets over a lane without even checking and they almost hit you, so you lay on the horn and they freak the f**k out like you just magically appeared there to ruin their day. Damn fools.

Man drivers make me angry.

People are very selfish, inconsiderate idiots everywhere unfortunately. Most the time I want to follow the person to tell them how dumb they are, but again, you can't trust people so I don't even attempt to put myself in harms way like that, thus the wrenches!!!
