    I want to add a dashcam to my Tacoma and want to know what brand everyone here is running? I am concerned about the Arizona heat and how to mount the dashcam.
    I have done some research and I think the Street Guardian sg96665gc v3 is what I will be purchasing.

    I have the sg9665gcv3 and quite like it. I wired it so that if the truck is on, the cam is on. I have it tucked behind the rear view mirror and I largely forget that it is even there.
    I don't have an account any where to be able to upload video, but I do have a screen cap of a cow running out in front of a motorcycle. (Biker locked it up and the collision was avoided, both went their merry ways.)

    I was also worried about the heat, but I haven't had any issues with it being in the sun all day (I've had it for about 9 months.)

    All memory cards are very slightly "damaged" every time they get written to, or read from - Just the nature of the beast, so they all have a finite lifespan. And at the rate dash cams write data to those things, they need to clear their little skulls every so often. Most manufacturers recommend formatting the card at least every 30 days. You've got a nice little camera and I'm guessing that the camera itself can format the card for you without having to remove it. Give that a try and see if your camera cooperates again.

    These cards are specifically designed to better withstand the beat-down that dash cams constantly issue to memory cards;

    Dash cams turn on and start recording automatically when you turn the car on, and turn off when you stop driving. They also overwrite themselves, so you never have to worry about it. Set it up once, and forget about it.

    also for arizona, make sure to get one with a capacitor not battery operated (which will explode and die)

    I've got a Street Guardian. I wired it up high (right in front of the rear view mirror), but need a shim or something since the power cord doesn't seem to fit right and I don't get steady power. This was most likely my fault on the install, and probably not due to manufacturing. I really liked it until the adhesive stopped working when it started warming up. I will have to find another mounting solution or something.

    I did like it, especially with the filter. Looking forward to getting it back in action.

    I did the Blackvue dr470-2ch with hardwire and GPS module. Works well. Once the newness wears off not having the wifi access is fine for me. Def get a capacitor model, and don't cheap out on the SD card. I've eaten a 128Gb SanDisk already. The rear cam is surprisingly interesting.
