Tore apart the cab interior for some RAMM sound deadening. It's effing hot out here y'all. I'll do the back wall tomorrow and see how much material I have left for the doors. Looks like I'll need to order more regardless.

Just a few weeks till I hit the road northward to the mountains!

Back together again! And a little bit cleaner inside now.

Lookin good man! I plan on eventually doing mine but the cost of the deadening is too much with all the things I still need/want right now. When I do a stereo down the road I'll def be deadening all around at the same time. Did you do under the back seats also today? Seems like pulling out the interior and doing both the floor and ceiling is a smart way to attack it. I would never want to do that much work on the truck in this heat!

I haven't done the back wall yet. I'll knock that out in the morning since it should be pretty easy compared to the giant pain in the ass that was today lol

After talking to @ETXTacoma I started to think I wouldn't have enough material to complete the whole truck this weekend, so I decided to do the hardest parts while I had the time for it.

Days like today make me wonder what the hell am I still doing here in Texas dealing with another hot af summer.

I dont want to work in the heat but would rather have a hot summer than a freezing winter. I still may end up someplace with worse winters in the future. Going to test my health in more extreme cold this winter to find out if its viable for me or not. I think it comes down to 2 options, Stay in a/c during the summer heat or stay inside during the winter cold. I've always preferred the heat but now I'm fat so the cold is sounding like it would be more comfortable.

LMAO I feel ya man. I used to love the heat. Now I'm ready to throw the eff it hands as high as they'll go. Ideally I'd like to be a snowbird, living in the mountains for 6-8 months and spending winters near the gulf here in Texas.

For a long time I had my heart set on getting a travel trailer and call it my tiny house since I work remotely and can live anywhere I get mobile data reception, but... life happens and stuff.

Having a small tiny house type of home really sounds great. It would be fun to travel and always have your "home" with you and not having to find a place. I know I'm going to move from texas just not sure when yet. If I do move I will start looking for a new job and/or talk my current one into letting me go remote. They dont usually let people work remote but every now and then they let it happen to keep an employee who has been there for a long time and proven that they are worth keeping on the team. To keep from having to find someone else to do what I was already doing for the company/department they ended up creating and promoting me into a new position.

Keep fighting the good fight and you'll be livin' the dream before you know it. I'm going to be scoping out cool towns to move to when I'm on my trip here in a few weeks.

Thats the way to do it. I'm going to try and plan a big trip next year exploring out W/NW and hit places I might be interested in moving to. Once I can narrow it down I'll then inform my company my plans to move and give them some time to figure out a new remote position while I also look for another job where I want to move. It will give me options and in the end I'll move where I want to so its a win for me.

yea, I should have done the headliner first and then the doors, but oh well.

Hopefully will get the rest of my install done before I go to TN. Can't wait to get that headliner knocked out as doing the doors helped so much.

Kinda wish i would have done a double layer on the rear wall/rear floor.

You get a lot of noise back there? I'm about to get started for the day. Most of the noise I get is through the firewall where I can't cover without removing the entire dash.

Yea I feel like it, but also don't have the seat and such behind the drivers seat so it, so that may be the issue.

I see. I'm leaving my rear seats out till I'm back from my trip, so I should probably double up the back wall as well. I ran out of material doing the back half of the cab. I got all of the floor and storage box area covered, but only 1/3 of the back wall. I ordered another kit from RAMM to finish out the cab and doors.

I have noticed that my stereo seems a bit louder and clearer, and I haven't touched any of the panels around the speakers yet.

Dude, just wait until you get the doors done... it makes a huge difference in the speaker system.

Just do what RAAMat said to do on the speakers and what to put behind them. Makes it sound 10x better.

I can't wait!!! On a related note... do you think you could put together a fridge mount for me like yours? The more I think about it the more I want my fridge in the cab for my trip. I have no woodworking tools :( I do have cash though :spy:

Not exactly truck related, but I finally made good use of a 5 dollar score for a 5 meter waterproof LED roll. Got a cheap work light/crappie fishing light now! All I'll need to do before it's water ready is seal up the connectors.

    You bet man!

Now that I know what all is required, it should not be hard to build a fridge mount like mine honestly. I can even refine it a little more to make it even better.

Will do! I appreciate that Steven. I may be a little late to the party though, I leave town in two weeks... August 12th! I may have to strap the fridge down by the handles to the existing bolt holes in the floor somehow. I'll take a look at it later this week once I get the rest of my RAMM mat delivered and installed back there.

If you want it before the trip to CO....

This coming weekend I will be out of town on Saturday, but should be free Sunday. I am off this coming wed on the 2nd but have an appt at 2pm.

Knowing what I need to buy be able to do the build and install, it should not be as long as a process to get it built to have you at least a platform to mount to.

So a days work is all it should really take honestly.

You have my number so if you want to try to knock it out Sunday. Just let me know.
