I recently got a 2017 Tacoma short bed with a factory hard cover. How can I make the tonneau cover more weather resitent?

From the "Tips and Tricks" discussion thread:
"If you have the factory tonneau cover, close the tail gate first then close the cover and press on the back corner until you hear a click, this completely seals the back and lets only small drops of water in if any"
    Maybe that will help

if you open your tailgate and look toward the cab side of your bed, you'll see daylight in the upper corners. People had success with small bits of rubber/silicone to fill in those gaps. Additionally, your rear wheels kick water up into your bed storage cubbies. there's gaskets available for those as the water will then leak from the bottom of those doors.

Lastly, a bed mat will aid you tremendously as the water will leak straight down the side walls and gather in the bottom of your bed grooves and the bed mat will keep it above all the water until it all dries.
