    Howdy! My first post here.

Hope y'all don't take unkindly to me, as I'm running a Cheby 1500 Silverado and F150 Ford until I can get my mitts on a Tacoma!

Have had MAJOR ISSUES with the Cheby and Ford; spent all week slapping new rotors and calipers on the F150.

    Looking for a reliable basic 4 x 4 Tacoma.

Any tips/hints/brickbats about getting a new "Taco," genuinely appreciated, like what to get and what NOT to get.

    Cheers!

I got my first Tacoma this past May. I really can't find a lot about it I don't like. I went with the TRD Sport, long bed, double cab. If I had to knit-pick, the only thing I find odd is that there is no height adjustment on the seat, and it's manual seat adjustment forward and back. Not a deal breaker, just weird.

Welcome to TW! I work at a Chevy dealer and there are at least 5 Tacomas in the employee lot including mine.

Thanks for the welcome, Men! Yeah--that seat adjustment for height seems like a pretty common beef, but I can live with it. The post about 5 Tacomas in the employees' Parking Lot at a Chevy Dealer--PRICELESS! :brianr:

We got a 2017 TRD DCSB OR at end of June. Just got back from a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. This is my first Tacoma and no complaints here. Ran great though the mountains. Have had Chevys, Fords, and yes even a Dogde once.

Bought 2017 SR AC MT in May. I have owned two other Toyota trucks. 1989 and 1994 both 4x4 v6. I then switched to full sized rigs last being 2011 F150 FX 4 with 5.0. I did not need a lot of bells or whistles on this truck as it is not my primary vehicle. So far I like my basic Tacoma. The 4 banger is not fast, but it is fast enough for what I bought it for ( forest roads, trout fishing, Home Depot runs). Good luck with your hunt.
