Onboard Pressurized Water System for the 2005-Current Toyota Tacoma OBW

If I was thinking of buying a portable one, I would prefer to have a pair of battery clamps and not just a cigarette lighter plug. That way you can use it with any 12v battery, not just a vehicle with the outlet.

Your the 2nd person out of 5 already who has said they didnt get it. USPS drives me crazy. I click the option to "notify recipient" and enter your email but it seems they only send them when they feel like it haha. Interesting. I would think its a major hassle to pop your hood every time you want to rinse off, no? Or you want it just as like an option to use along with the cigarette plug?

 

Having the option to use along side the plug would be great. The awesome thing about being able to connect it to any battery is when I go camping, could just have a smaller 12v battery to bring to the site away from where my truck is parked.

 

@ProForce I'm still trying to find one, but a cord winder could help here. I wanna say I found a 10' or 15' cable to plug into a cigarette lighter, but that's alot of cord to just shove in to a box, I was trying to see if I could find one of those winders like you see on headphones sometimes that winds the cord from both sides and is spring loaded to shut. No luck so far, its all headphone wiring winders and like 100' cable coilers lol.

Just trying to think out of the box for mobile applications.

 

Thinking about atvs, dirt/adventure bike riders, etc. In addition to keeping it in the bed of the truck they could have it on the trail if they want. Not that someone couldn't take the plug off and swap it for the clamps, but if it's portable it might as well be more universal as well.

The main issue is that the hoses and contents of the kit hardly fit in the can as it is. Adding that much free wire will take up a lot of room and youll have to worry about wrapping it back up each time. Id really like to find something like this but with male on both sides and a little longer then the 9ft. Im thinking 12 to 15 ft would be perfect

 

I really like both of these options. Having the versatility of all three is great, because I feel that the user will likely keep whichever of the three they use in the box with pump, and store the other two else where in the truck.

Finally got around to installing the kit. Works extremely well, and impressed with your quality of parts, packaging, and detailed instructions.
I chose to install the fittings inside the cubby and just use my SwitchPro instead of the given switch.
The only concern I had was the clear hose that goes from the water source to the fitting. It had a kink in it, so I went to a hardware store and bought a 5' PVC braided 3/8" ID hose.
Now with the heavier/sturdier hose, I need to figure out a way for the end of the hose to stay at the bottom of the water tank.
Maybe just tie a large fishing weight or two to the end?
Or added some sort of filtering end piece that'll weigh down the tip?
What have you guys done to keep the tip of the water source hose down in the water and not curl up out of it while in use?

 

The hand wash systems we use on river trips use similar tubing. To keep the tube down in the water we find a couple of nuts that fit over the tube and hold them in the end of the tube with hose clamps on either side. Works pretty well

Sorry to hear your having issues with the hose. It must have gotten kinked during shipping. Its soft enough hose that the kink should come right out. If you need a weigh, i like the nut idea mentioned above. You can also pick up a 3/8 brass hose barb with male threads on the other side and thatll give you a little weight. Even thread on a large nut for extra weight.

 

No worries at all. I'm just being picky with the hose. The kink does come out but I still had to keep the hose end facing down towards the water source tank. I'll try to nut and hose clamps or the brass hose barb with male threads on the other side and nut for added weight. We'll see what works best. Thanks for the reply, Anthony! Again, great product!!! Did a couple installs today, both a bit different then the instructions. First one was installed like many others have done all self contained in the cubby. The second required longer hoses and was ran down the the bumper.

Perfect timing on that post, I just got the cubby out to start the install. I know where the QD's are going!

 

Few things to note if you are putting them in the cubby...

Those hoses are 3ft long, i cut off 1ft from each. The hose is stamped with measurements.

They are kind of a pita to disconnect the hoses from if they are installed there

The braided tubes in that position make the cubby very hard to put back on the truck. Itll require a littlw muscle to push the cubby back in and the hoses will smash up against the back side of your fenders. Use caution to not bend or dent the fender. Also, smashing them caused an air leak where one of my lines connected to the pump. Test it before putting all the bolts back in and make sure your hose clampa are tight.
