That is the best tent I had. But age forced me to move to a travel trailer.

I thought about a trailer. But I live in the city and have no place to park it.

Might be a dumb question, but what are advantages of canvas tents? I've only ever had the the nylon(or whatever they're made of) tents.

From what I've read, and don't quote me here, they are more durable than synthetic, and they breathe better than synthetic while still providing a waterproof shelter.

I was looking at several synthetic style large tents as well when deciding what tent to buy. I went with the Kodiak because of the reviews I found online. The tent poles are also very different from your average dome tent. It's more of a cabin tent than a dome tent.

    More difficult to put up?

No easy to put up. Just follow the instruction closely.
    Way better than nylon.

Not really. You simply put the top roof pole together, then pick up the side and insert the two side poles (after you have the corners staked down). Instant cabin tent. It was a bit difficult for me to hold up the tent and insert the peg into the side pole with one hand, but I've only done it once. Maybe practice will make this a bit more easy.

Warmer and dryer than nylon. No need for a rain fly.

I forgot the no-rain-fly part. That's an awesome benefit too. And I think this will be awesome in colder weather.

I have one of these. It is are a really nice tent.

I found, with 2 people, set up easy. Once you assemble the roof struts, each person picks it up, keeping the roof level, then put the upright poles under the roof strut. One person can do it, but 2 makes it a breeze.

That cot looks really comfortable. I need to try one.

That cot is big and heavy. But if I'm camping for a few days, it should be really nice. Gives me room to store stuff underneath. I'm looking for a sleeping pad that fits it better though as all I own are slim backpacking sleeping pads that are slim and thin.

Guess I'm gonna have to look around at canvas tents.

I saw one a few weeks ago at Davidson River Campground. I helped set it up. It is a physical effort to get the side pole into the top pole. I was surprised. Some may not be able to push it that hard.
    A very nice tent.

That's the part I was talking about. That canvas has some weight to it. To hold that up with the pole in one hand, and grabbing the tent pole insert with the other is kind of a feat. But I found setting up my RTT was quite a feat in balance and dexterity too. lol

In my camper a double wouldn't be as good as two Luxe pads because there would be gaps on the sides. I thought about the double though as it is a good size too. Arrrgh now I'm thinking about it again. See what you did there?
