    Hey all,

I'm just about to finish the install of my CB and I've been reading everywhere I can on the "ideal" install. I've been noticing some conflicts in what people are saying, ie some people say you need to keep you antenna ground cable less than a foot long, others say to run a ground down to the chassis.

Here's some pictures of where I'm trying to mount and it seems like people have been successful finding a ground near this location. My goal reachable communication would be within 3 miles with line of sight.

Ideas of where I should ground to?

I was thinking of following the coax down and just hopping onto a grounded bolt between the cab and bed (maybe a 2-3 foot ground), but I've also seen some people ground to the bolt holding the bed rail on (6 inch ground).

a CB radio hardwired in the inside fuse panel, a lightbar and siren hooked up also
I don’t know if this helps at all, but I ran a short<10 inch ground wire for my mount and found it made a night/day difference in how my radio operates. My SWR meter went from 2 to 1.5 SWR and I went from 1.5 watts of power to >3 but <4
