    Did truck thingies.

Getting ready for the first camping trip in 3 years for us, and the first ever for Bennett at 2 years old. Just a 2-nighter way up near the west side of Squaw Valley with another family who has 2 kids either side of Ben's age. Really really looking forward to getting back to this. Like, really.

Double-checking everything in and on the Teardrop. The ARB fridge/freezer has been plugged into shore power for extra duty for about 2 years. The Northstar deep cycle has been getting juice off and on continually ever since I bought it about, what, a year ago? Still want to pull it out and put it back on the CTEK charger for conditioning before we go. Trailer spare was down to 14 psi. Glad I checked. I also had to remember if I had the right socket for the trailer lug nuts. Yes, it is indeed the one I stashed in the truck console.

Rotated tires (5 wheel) 4k past due. Usually do it ever 5k during oil change, but even that ran long to about 7500 with all the house buying/selling/fixing/longer commuting. May have been a tad underinflated too. Front.

And got the RAM mount in. Great unit. Easy to reach and operate. And I love that it only takes my eyes about 1 or 2 degrees off dead ahead on the road.

    Ball mount with bolts
for the handle bolt, I realized too late they were 8mm and we need 6mm, but that was just a quick trip to Ace. I used a 60mm length, and glad I did. Gives the clamping end of the double-socket arm unfettered rotational freedom.

Universal PDA holder @DVexile recommendation. The top claws a spring loaded to move vertically, and once you dick around with it for a while, behind the steering wheel, you get the hang of grabbing your phone a certain way to get it in and out quickly. Trick is to use your left hand and do it without your cord plugged into the phone, and just stick one finger between the top to claws, and your thumb between the bottom two claws. Easy peasy.

Ball mount for the back of the PDA holder

3-inch double-socket arm Iwas really wondering if the lenght on this would be OK. It is. There is limited space between the steering wheel and the grab handle, and this length is pretty much complete adjustable to position your device in the usable range.

Yuppers. Taking Friday off, two nights up there, head back Sunday. About 2.5 hours each way. Never been there, dont' care, sounds great. I'm bringing the 21-yo Old Pulteney to celebrate at the camp fire. The same one we broke open in the redwoods the night we originally took delivery of the trailer.

Don't hold your breath. Most of it is likely to be "How the fuck do I camp with a toddler/pass out."

It is on a reservoir, and I was thinking maybe I should get an inflatable unicorn or something, but that's already been done.

    Then I found this.

Look at it. The ergonomics. Brilliant. You can lash up additional slices for a flotilla. My mind's exploding right now.

Seems legit, my wife would naturally want a cheese slice.

But we won't get into that.

Floats are awesome, good way to get everybody in the water together

You saying she doesn't go for salami, so to speak? So sorry, old chap.

We've been getting Ben in grandpa's pool and he really likes splashing around and kicking. Plus we have a big lake near us too. We can gets some mileage out of these.

    Nah, just beanie weanies.

Might want to get one with a beer holder also, just trying to think ahead.

    IT HAS INTEGRATED CUPHOLDERS! LOOK!

Could also just lash a camelback full of beer to the side, and weight it so it hangs down in the cool water....
