Just got Frank a new alignment. Wow drives nice. I love our tech here. Always up to do custom tweaks and I get to sit in the shop and watch and help. Well worth the 70 bucks.

New diff gets here tomorrow. Gonna rip out the old one tonight and clean up some other odds and ends.

So you had the right ecu that was supposed to work an still had a prob with urd kit?

 

more then a problem. Wouldn't run hardly. Pulled the 7th computer. Runs decent. Not great, still pings and hesitates just slightly at 3k rpms. but WAY better then not being able to move at all.

 

Hmmmmm, ya sorry to best a dead horse here , but I've been really on the fence bout getting the kit lately after some research ,but have been wanting to get that kit since I got the truck. I guess that's kinda nail in the coffin, idk I don't think I'm getting a lot of pinging, but I run octane booster? But I def feel like I get those lil power surge? Would def like that urd kit to work for smoothness/power gain

 

supposed to help with all of that. Are yo monitoring your AFRs?

If you have a wideband, i still think the best bet is the AEM FIC6

 

No, with me being on the fence I'm gonna have rpm muffler do v band clamps on my y pipe/crossover, an weld a bung for the o2. You got any rec on afr gauge?aem is all I hear. An yea if I decide to get something I'd get that aem, but would prob take it somewhere that they know what they are doing.

 

Not sure which build you were thinking of swapping and you mentioned cxracing makes bolt motor mounts for the LS1. It also looks like they were able to squeeze the exhaust between the steering linkage and trans.

Aem is a good gauge.

Yeah but it's 2wd. No front drive shaft. Clears the steering but not the diff..

BUT. I think it can be done still will different headers perhaps.




I just got back from my first overnight trip with Frank! Holy shit he drives soooooooo much better in the dirt then igor. God damn it's smooth. I even forgot my oba and didn't air down and was still smoother.

Hauls ass. Love it few things need tweaked though.

Bed rack is biggest issue. It's too low for my current packing scheme. So packing isn't going well. Needs to be just an inch or two higher.

Need to plumb the lockers still.

But worried about my clutch.

Alt started making noise.

But more importantly I've got a CEL!! hoping it'll tell me if my o2s are bad or cat.

 

Most of us cringe at the thought of getting a cel. Not you...

That light is a godsend when you've been experiencing wierd stuff but aren't sure if it's actually a problem.

I just realized on this last outing that Frank is pretty much how i had envision him when i first set out to build him. Only took 8 years..And is a LOT rougher around the edges then id like...okay not just edges.

But now, i can buckle down and start "refining" him so to speak....if that is even possible.
