    Tacomas don't have struts.

Might as well get Bilstein 5100's. They're a good oem replacement shock for around $350(total). You don't have to use them as a lift shock, but it's nice to have the option.

I just put in Bilstein 5100s in the front and Rancho 9000 adjustables in the back. No lift, rides smoother. I recommend either over the much smaller 4600s that came off the car. I did Ranchos in the back because I like to put them on hard when towing for more sway control.

BTW, 4600s do not last 90k miles, my pass rear was completely blown.

I have an 08 pre-runner with 123k miles and could tell my shocks were roached. I bought some 16 Tacoma takeoffs complete for $180. I think this is going to raise the front end a little over stock.

Interestingly, mine as well was completely blown at 91k. No gas in it and no resistance. Driver rear was fine, don't know about the fronts as I had the shop swap them.

Just did some dirt roads today and wow it is so smooth now. The 5100s are really nice.

Actually the 4600s are larger diameter than what came on the trds

Are the 5100's a considerably harsher pavement ride than the 4600's are? Assuming no lift, everything stock

Some people claim miracles occurred when they upgraded and trophy truck status was achieved. Others(myself included)noticed no significant difference. :notsure:

I have stock non trd shocks with only 7k miles for sale. Came from a 2015 Prerunner. 100% ready to ship. They do not come with springs though. Just a suggestion unless you're stuck on getting aftermarket or trd 4600's. I may have 14' 4600's for sale soon but I don't truly know when, I'm still pulling parts together for my build.

TRD blue and yellow bilsteins had 90k on them, replaced with 5100s in front and it is not a harsher ride on pavement and it is much much smoother on dirt roads.

After many miles up winding rough mountain roads, significant off road, and high speed interstate travel, I love these shocks. They keep the truck very stable up front, and I really like the Rancho 9000s in the back. I seem to be using the adjustment all the time. Cranking them up controls sway nicely when there's extra weight in the truck
