I got Cooper ST MAXX tires today. I punctured a stock Wrangler on a trail last week. Discount Tire (America's Tire here) sold them to us for the lowest price and we got the certificates because of off road and towing use. I expect to replace at least one tire. Kept the spare Wrangler as the spare. We went with stock size because I don't want the gear ratios changing. We are getting a 3500 piund dry toy hauler next month, so we wanted light truck tires. These are 10 ply tread and 3 ply sidewall.

I have been driving my wife's Civic all week for about 1000 miles so driving the truck felt slow with old and new tires. They are definitely smoother over normal road surfaces because they are new but they jolt more over large bumps. I have no data about fuel mileage or wear. The lugs are DEEP compared to the spare Wrangler which was full tread depth.

There wasn't a thread specifically about these tires. I hope this helps someone.

Trail photo is plugging the Wrangler

I have these on my dodge and they still look brand new after 10,000 miles. Great all around tire for on/off road use and they are the most quiet tires I have had on my truck. I have relatives that use these on farm trucks, and they have no problem getting 50,000 miles out of them.

still worth saying i run ST Maxx tires exclusively and they will kick your ass. amazing tires. a bit to watch on a wet slick road if your truck runs normal weight. these tires are pretty stiff and it's great everywhere, just gotta be careful on wet tarmac.

I will have to keep an eye on this to see how you guys like them long term. I only have 300 miles on mine right now so I have a little while before I have to worry about tires, but I've always liked Coopers. I ran Cooper CS4s on my passenger cars for years, and they were awesome. I've liked the Wranglers that came on my Off-Road so far, but I'm not a huge fan of Good Year. I have had bad luck with them in the past.

I've had them down to 9 psi with non-beadlock rims and they were awesome! What pressure are you guys running on the street?

well, shit talking is a thing. :p
on the street i run them currently at 29 front and 27 rear when cold. they come up about 2psi when warm.

these tires are so stiff i could go lower for the rears and may try it. for now I'm in the chalk test zone.

I'm on 265/65-17 so am keeping a good sidewall, but not too much. these tires will feel stiffer and need lower pressure than a 265/70-17.

    Damn, beat me to it.
I run mine at 35 front and 33 rear. Rides fine and MPG is still 17 on the highway.

holy cripes. when i got these mounted Disco Tire set them at 45! i was feeling like a hockey puck on the street, it was horrible.

I'm sure you'll be surprised what you find out from the chalk. it would really take a Taco, 2 full steel bumpers, a topper, a bed full, and a fat family stuffed inside to get these tires to load right on normal truck pressures. our trucks just don't have the weight (which makes me very happy as a driving enthusiast).
