Touch up paint and Air Bag turn off

just picked up 2012 Reg Cab 4x4 5sp. Finally got around to giving it a bath and found a lot more chips in paint that what i thought was there. Not that they are bad, but id much rather try and touch them up/fill and try to protect it a little. Only one larger spot is about the size of a pencil eraser, the rest are very small and just small pin head sized.

Color is Pyrite Mica.....I did a little search, primiarily Amazon, but found mixed reviews about the colors matching up. Is there anywhere to get color matched touch up paint?



And i notcied today that there is no option to manually turn the airbag off... i know they have sensors, but in my 2010 i have the option. Is it due to my truck being a base model?

 

As far as the airbag goes it come on when pressure is applied to the passenger seat.

Your speaking of a turn off for the P/S on the '10, correct? AFAIK no one provides a turn off for the D/S.

On your '12 I think the P/S is off until a certain weight hits the seat, then you'll see it light up 'on'.

Eastwood makes great touch up tools. Get the touch up from the dealer.

 

That is surprising... especially in a single cab. Other than buying a different truck, what do people do if small kids have to ride in the truck, such as a carseat? I dont have a child, but very surprised its not a choice. Any idea what the weight limit is for sensor?

And no on my '10, i can use the key to cut off... could do it on my '01 too.. just surprised that feature is gone, particularly with single cab config.

 

Your color code should be 4T3 for the touch up paint. Also get the bottle of clear coat. I like this company. I've had great results with them.

40 pounds is the weight limit.

My dog is 40 pounds and he would turn it one when he sits over there; he didn't turn it on when he was a puppy-20lbs~

As far as car seats go, I don't believe regular cabs are intended for car seats. Even though they have the anchors.

I was always under the impression kids should be in the back seat.
