I went and looked at the RAMs they look nice but smelled kind of strange inside not like the usual new car smell... is it a FIAT thing? I grew up with Fords in the 80s and 90s and while the trucks were known to be decent Fords overall were notorious for electrical issues from my experiences. I've always seemed to hear the most horror stories about Dodge but I've never personally owned one and I do know guys driving older ones as work trucks who have no issues with very high mileage. Personal experience and perception is a powerful thing.

Yeah that's funny you say that I noticed it first time I drove it too, think it's just the different interior materials, idk. Had a VW Jetta for a short period of time and that thing smelled like melted crayons.

My father has owned a Dakota w/318, 2x 2500 w/Cummins, Durango w/318 (?), and now a Ram 1500 w/Ecodiesel. Never any engine or drive train problems over 15+yrs.. but each one minus the Ecodiesel had the front end rebuilt at least once. Suspension seems to not like abuse. He uses the shit out of them, 30k-40k mi/yr avg, off road hunting/fishing, towing boat/trailer etc.

If the new Dodges start smelling like garlic bread and stromboli then we know we are on to something:laugh:
