Newbie looking for a Tacoma mechanic/hobbyist in Houston

Hey y'all,

I'm a soon-to-be first gen owner! I'm looking for a mechanic (doesn't have to be one by trade) or a person who knows the first gen through and through that can take a truck that has been well maintained with approx 150k miles and do a full exam on it to see what needs to be replaced or is gonna need to be soon. I'm no gearhead and would rather leave it in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing!

I had good luck finding a local guy to work on my 96 Impala SS when I bought it by posting on a forum. He did it at night and on the weekends. I'm in no rush and can leave the truck for several days.

Probably gonna go with a 4cyl 2.7 because I need it for commuting and am looking for better fuel mileage than what the 6cyl offers. But I'm all ears to opinions and any trucks that may be for sale!
