The Walking Dead Show vs. Comics (Heavy Spoilers likely)

I can see that too. I've not read them and don't want to for fear of unintentionally spoiling something. Plus time, who ever has enough of that right haha

 

I'm current on the comic.
To be honest the show doesn't follow the comic exactly. Some stuff is the same & other stuff is on the show only & some stuff is from the conic but different characters are involved. It can be fun to make those connections with events but different characters.

They don't take long to read, I did most of mine after work while sitting on the couch watching tv.

 

Yeah, I went through them all in a couple of weeks. Read them during lunch and a few issues at home cause I was hooked on the story. You can do 4 or 5 issues in an hour.

I read them all pretty quickly too. I don't like the show as much now though haha. The books are so much better. All these random groups in the show are mucking everything up. Just get to the war and move on. Stop draggggggging

 

I may have asked this earlier in the thread, anyone read the book, books? like Rise of the Governor and Road to Woodbury? They were pretty good, I liked the glimpse into what got the person to this point.

So given that the war is about to kick off I've been wondering who is going to die in Holly's place. Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) having been cast in the new Star Trek series seems like a good candidate. She also had a thing with Abraham and is looking for revenge. I think Morgan's clock is ticking too, he has been cast in the new Blade Runner so he will be super busy. And where the fuck is Heath?

Sad news for comic fans this month.

 

Been staying away from this thread in case there was any talk of the show. I have only watched 2-3 episodes of the latest season. I cut cable and pretty much lost interest in it after how slow it got.

Just caught up on the book and read the last 6 books. What were you referring to?

Finally caught back up on the show. I’m pretty current on the books too, probably 3-4 issues back. As glad as I am coral is gone in the show I’m really at a loss on where it goes from here. I’ve always had the opinion that The Whispers wouldn’t make good television so maybe they just scrap the source material all together. Or better yet, end the show...

 

Yeah, I think the whispers story line would do well on a Netflix/HBO style channel. That first introduction with the storm and Rick's sentry guy hearing voices within the walkers was spooky as hell. I really want to see that on screen.

 

All caught up. Not sure what to think of the Commonwealth. This story arc is only 6 issues so I’m assuming they find out some disturbing stuff like the Governor in Woodberry...

 

I'm sure Rick will fuck shit up as well.

 

I am current on the comic but I haven't watched the show since the season before Glen was killed. I really lost interest in the show but still love the comic...go figure.

 

I have also been wondering if the Whiperers will be introduced to the show. I read the comic up to the matriarch of the Whisperers decapitating members of the new regime and sticking them on polls.
The show did add Negan using Walker blood on Lucille this last episode but as @ThunderCookies mentioned, the show killed off Carl, who in the comic developed a friendship with Negan... Who knows where the show is going?!? I do know its been a lack luster season so far.
