    Howsit going everyone,

I decided to purchase a 3rd gen in December 2016, which makes this build a 2017 DCSB SR5 model. I've always wanted a 4 door automatic, and after getting my kidneys abused by my previous 3rd gen 4runner, and 1st gen tacoma, I decided it was time to just move on to something much newer and smoother off road.

    Quick recap of those builds:

    1999 Tacoma Xtra cab 4x4 TRD S/C w/ 7th injector
    IMG_2249_zps5eocazro_92ffe40f133c5ed856e22670d50dcaabb308139b.jpg

1997 4runner SR5, locked, armored (sliders and rear tire carrier)
    IMG_1996.jpg

I opted for a SR5 model, due to the fact that I'd be changing and modifying a lot of things, so I found it unnecessary to spend extra money on a truck with things i'd be removing. As long as it was power everything, and LSD from the get go, I really could care less.

Day one, brought it home, loved the truck.
    IMG_3094.jpg
    IMG_3140.jpg
(Dont mind my camper hoist above the truck...that was for my black 1st gen tacoma)

I did a lot of research in the meantime on what/where I wanted to go with this truck. After some time, I opted to contact Marie at Headstrong Offroad and purchase Bilstein 5100's with OME 888 coils, and OME Dakar leaf pack with Bilstein 5100 ext. rear shocks. It arrived and I installed them with some Spidertraxx 1.25" wheel spacers, and Thule Xsporter racks, paired with Yakima ski racks to hold my fishing poles.
My goal during this time was to run 275/70/17's, and as you can tell from my previous trucks, I've always ran Goodyear Kevlar M/T's so I just had to do it again! During this time, I thought I'd be happy with it the outcome..

Gained 3.5" in the front over stock, and about 4.25" in the rear. It later settled to 2.75" up front, and 3.75" in the rear.

After that last fishing trip, I started to hear clunking from the front passenger well.
Upon inspection, I found the bilstein 5100 shock shaft had stripped. I was pretty disappointed with the fact I didnt even have 500 miles on them, and they were 2.5 months old. However, I've always ran bilsteins shocks and have never had this problem.
    IMG_3959.jpg
    IMG_3961.jpg

Instead of complaining, I took it as a "bad batch" type of thing, and decided it was time to BRUH this 3rd gen to everyone's Hawaii expectation.

Honestly, at the current 3" lift height, I could not make it into places for fishing without dragging my bumpers, or hitting the rocker panels. With this being my first ever new vehicle, I could not justify scraping them on lava rock, or making her look too raunchy with armor and sliders at the age of 7 months lol.

So I ordered a Pro Comp 6" lift and went to town. Full length 6" Bilstein 5100's for the front, paired with the OME 888 coils I already had, along with the HS taco lean spacer. The rear I kept the Dakar leaf pack and extended bilstein 5100's (these are actually designed for a 6" lift), and added a 3" block. Luckily, the HS rear extended brake lines that come with the Dakar kit are also meant for a 6" lift as well.

    IMG_3962.jpg

This is how she currently sits

    IMG_3968.jpg IMG_3969.jpg
    IMG_3970.jpg

Gained 7" over stock height up front, and 7.75" in the rear over stock.
Still sitting on the current wheel and tire setup
275/70/17 Goodyear Kevlar MT's and 4runner Trails. (the alignment is off in the pic, I just took it off the post lift)

    Future goals:
    - possibly LED light bar behind the grille
    - Lockers?
    - Power inverter(s)
    - custom grille

We see as time goes on, I'm always shifting through different projects so some things will take more time as compared to others.

    Thanks for looking!

No point in quad projectors since highbeams don't need a cut off light...I say just retro stock projector with morimotos or lexus rx projectors.

My man! Sounds good. I'll start retuning these RX's soon. If not, I guess an s2k projector will do, always loved how powerful and smooth the cutoffs were. Too bad can't shove a 3" projector in...

Bahaha that's soo classic! It's honestly crazy how many toyotas are sold in Hawaii. But the reliability is seriously the persuasion factor. Especially when you're camping 80 miles away from home

Ditched my trails and 275's cause everyone seemed to hop on the bandwagon on the Big Isle. Got really irritated with seeing 3rd gens with trails so I took the opportunity to get the tire size I wanted, and a different rim.

17x9 SCS stealth 6 wrapped with, yes, kevlars again. 285/70/17's.
