Are the spark plugs in the 5vz pretty easy to change without breaking or stripping anything out?

 

I also did the same and they turned out great. Mine were done about 6 months ago and still look great.

Do you find that your swingout spindle and latch block your taillights? I'm thinking about changing my latch to the 4xinnovations setup, seems like it will block the light quite a bit though.

 

Yea. Synergy makes some awesome products, but this Winter I'll be cutting off my currently swingout and building dual swingouts with some stuff from Relentless Fabrication. Also going to add some side protection.

Not exactly sure on how big the gap is "supposed" to be and I imagine it could vary based on how much weight you have on the rear and whether or not you have frame plates etc, as that could change the amount of flex you get back there. My plan is to leave somewhere around 1/4" (no less) and see how it does, I'll go carefully twist it up really good and watch it to see if its enough, if not I'll add more.

I did not reinforce the rear bedsides, it is a little less rigid but I don't think its enough to worry about?

I got some more done today and got it out of the garage!! Installed new front rotors and pads (just oem replacements), got a new rear brake line made and installed to fit around the new lower shock mount on the driver side, flushed the remaining brake fluid out of the system and refilled/bled them, they feel great now! Also got the ebrake properly adjusted so it actually works like its supposed to. The PO had it so loose and so much slack in it that it wouldn't engage the rear shoes at all when you pulled the handle, pulls nice and solid now and locks the rear wheels great. I then spent a bit getting everything that I've installed front to rear properly buttoned up and torqued preparing for its first drive!

Also called and setup an alignment for tomorrow afternoon. I know I'll have to redo it once i get the front bumper/winch/skidplates/etc on and have to readjust the front coilovers for proper ride height but I've got family coming into town this weekend and want have it driving while there here.

I decided to wait on the skid plates install until very last so that i can get underneath and keep an eye on things for a week or two without having to drop them and reinstall them.

First time out of the garage with the most recent work done...



We then took it for a drive to check for any noises, vibrations, weirdness etc which there were none, it drove just fine! While we were out I decided to go ahead and pick up the front bumper from the UPS freight facility instead of waiting for it to get delivered since the only come up to my area once a week...



Took a few more pics while it was sitting in the driveway before I unloaded the bumper...




One of the front bumper off the pallet. I have to weld in some light mounts and "sleeves" on the backside of the fog light cutouts, then it will get dropped off at powder coat. Cant wait to see it on the truck!!

 

damn, i thought my copper ray10s looked good with the green. Killer with the red.

Also...that bumper looks to missing frame mounting points...or is it just me?

 

Finally finished rebuilding & revaulving my racerunners 2.5s. Now to find time to install them...

Okay, so I picked up my glass from Mcneil Racing on my lunch break today and pulled apart the front end when I got home from work and started in on the driver side fender...

What a pain in the ass.

A lot more involved than I had originally anticipated. I knew it wasn't exactly plugNplay but shit. After some sanding, trimming, and drilling spot welds I got it lined up and mounted. (Except for the light) I'll be back at it again Thursday for round 2. Here's where I left off tonight...

 

My buddy just bought an SAS with dual cases. Got a great deal on it cause the rear diff grenaded, so we pulled the axle shafts and 3rd member to find the pinion was toast, but ring gear unscathed. Also traded him my old icons (d.r.) for his brand new kings plus a little cash. A win win situation for both us haha.

What springs are you running? Your shackle angle looks similar to mine and I have lift shackles. I'm still waiting to see if my leafs will settle enough where I can leave them in or not.
