The a/c condenser in my '14 sierra went toast at 60k.

Slow and steady growth is more important than being #1

Pickup trucks in general are a cash cow for automakers. Except the Ridgeline

I think it's more of a manufacturing capacity issue than lack of effort. Remember automakers got their asses handed to them on full size trucks when oil prices went through the roof. Can't add capacity for full size pick ups on a whim. Pickup lines aren't as flexible as unibody architecture when sales move from one to the other.

it's the styling, and the Toyota Pickup heritage that's carrying the Tacoma.

Surprising to see the Tacoma catching up to the GMC sierra though. I hate all GM products, and I GM is the worst auto-manufacturer on the planet. But... the the Sierra Denali is a great looking truck.

GM and Ford offer huge discounts. Their MSRP sticker is a joke. Tundra would sell more if it got better MPG. Everyone I know that has/had one complains about gas mileage.

But I read here on the forum the CPS and diff recalls were supposed to eat into sales, that legendary "Toyota quality" was now down the shitter with the 3rd gen.

I guess people just don't care in the real world, only Tacoworld...

Threads like these pop up every month.
Honestly, if you like your truck why does anyone who likes their truck care about how many trucks were sold month by month?
I'm actually happy that the sales gap between the Tacoma and gm twins are only 34,000 units apart. It's good to have a variety of midsize pickup trucks on the road. If every midsize truck on the road was a Tacoma it would be annoying. I get excited when I see a Colorado/canyon because that is one less midsize truck on the road that doesn't look like mine.
Just like it would be boring if every mid size sedan on the road was a Camry. It's good to have a variety of cars in each segment.
I love my taco and will be driving it for a long time.

One of the things I really liked about my C7 Corvette was the 35mpg at 75mph on the freeway. Gotta love the eco tech in that engine. You would think Toyota with their racing heritage and r&d would do something similar with the Tundra engine.

That's the main reason I dropped mine back in '08 when gas prices went from $1.80 in '05 to over $5.00+ and no end in sight in just around 3-1/2 years, I'll be dammed If I was going to line the pockets of the wealthy oil companies I said, so I fought back. I remember seeing a lot of people doing the same including some vets by parking their cars & trucks for motorcycles too.
Right after that, the '09 Tundra got even bigger and thirstier while Ford & GM made more an effort to get better mpgs, go figure!

    Cheers!

I counted atleat a dozen other 3rd gens that I saw on the road today.
At one point there were 4 of us at the same stoplight

No one has touched them in a dozen years and no one is going to come close.

Their response to consumer reports, and all this bs about the gm and the ridge line being better...just release cement as a stock color, that should sell an extra 10k units a month by itself.

Tacoma is killing it but it's good for the uninformed populace to buy just enough of the gm twins to keep Toyota honest.
Hopefully we won't be waiting another 10 years for an update.
On a side note, if Toyota released a more powerful and responsive engine/tranny combo, they'd be outselling 5 to 1.
Father in law just bought a new Colorado diesel with 370 ft lb of torque. POS? You bet it is but hey, that power
