I was swapping lock cylinders on my Pickup today, and after I finished with the driver's door side, I went to the other side. I went to roll the window up to do it and the window would not go up. The light on the door was still on, the door lock button still works, yet the window would not go up. The windows were both working 10 minutes prior to that. Weirdly enough, the light on the door went out for a minute, and then came back on.

I tried unplugging all of the plugs on the wiring harness on the passenger side of the truck and plugging them in but no luck. I went over to the drivers side and played with the switch for the passenger window and it also won't work. Ironically the driver's side window, lock, and light all work. What am I missing here?

There is 2 red wires that send the window signal from drivers door to passenger door. They switch from power to ground respectively for up or down. Check connections for power and ground. Use a volt meter on across those 2 wires. One way will show +12v the other way -12v. (Way= up and down with switch.)

Back to the tables. Gotta love Vegas!

Open door, hold window up button, slam door. I had a mustang that did this periodically. The brushes in the motor get worn and make pool contact. If that works it's not a fix, but a usable bandaid until the motor gets replaced. Or you trade the car in and it becomes the dealers problem.

A bad connection on the drivers door will often affect the passenger door as well. And just for giggles, you didnt set the window lock and forget did you?

sometimes the contacts are corroded but I would think one or the other would work.

I tried cleaning the contacts and it didn't do anything. I'm thinking that the switch is messed up since I was able to read voltage all the way up to the wire that goes into the passenger switch. I'll keep you guys updated. I get the switch tomorrow
