How many vehicles have you ran 33s or larger on. The power loss is not that drastic. If your rig makes under 200hp like my 4runner it's noticeable.

Either way the looks and performance gained offroad is worth all the negatives.

You are wrong. I daily drive my truck and it does not feel like Im towing a small trailer. "Off the line acceleration" is a little more sluggish and it definitely does not impact shifting. The loss of mpg seems true. Do you even have 285's? Or you just going off what you read here.

On a DCLB, 35's look JUST right IMO.
Maybe it's how long the truck is and makes them look proportional.

285/70/17's with shell lopro bumper, platinum winch, sliders added around 750 lbs to vehicle minimum I average around 16 mpg. Still gets up and goes when I put my foot in it.20170428_192455.jpg

Thanks to everyone one who helped me make up my mind! I have absolutely no regrets with the 285's. Yes I can tell a sight difference in mpg's, maybe lost 2 at the most but was totally worth it. Everything else was minimal.

Are you running the stock suspension? Looks like you're running the stock Sport wheels.

Are you rubbing on the front air valence or mudguards at full lock?

Had to trim the air valence and I took a heat gun to the mud flaps. I now can hit a curb at full lock without rubbing.

I really like your youtube channel man. Great content. I'm thinking of going 285/75/16 next also. Same trd pro wheels as you as well.

Nice. Did you cut the mudflaps down at all or just mold them? I'd like to eventually run 33's, but I also like having the mud flaps on.

Thanks! I really appreciate it!:) I've been slacking lately, but there will be more videos soon.
I wouldn't hesitate with the tire and wheel setup, you won't be disappointed.

I got 285 70 17 with a 3-inch lift and I even have mud flaps. It very rarely rubs in a very specific spot when I'm turning backwards or hitting a bump while I'm turning. It's so rare and insignificant that I don't even notice it anymore. Lost a couple miles per gallon but remember that you are also going further than the odometer reads with larger circumference tires, which ends up being about a 6% difference.
I usually, when I remember, drive around with the ECT on but I'm also planning to get an exhaust system and do some other upgrades in the future to increase power and responsiveness.
