Im on round 3 for replacing my filler panel leds. Tried coating them in spar urethane this last time. Didnt help. Theyre discolored already again, and one led went out. So round 4 will be in order eventually. Will probably disassemble each one and paint them this time. And replace the burned out one. Surprised it burned out tho. My first ones still worked for the longest time even with no lenses and open to the elements.

These are glass lenses. Haven't had an issue yet and I did them in december.

    Cool, mod. Done very cleanly.
Just wouldn't work for those of us living in a desert. I need all the air flow I can get.

Yeah...cool mod, but no way that would happen down here in FL. During this time of year and the other 9 months, I want all vents pointed at me, hitting me at all different angles.

My wife's 4runner has a crotch vent for the driver. I want to mod my truck and add this wonderful vent.

Hah, yeah my mod aint for everybody.. .. I'm sure you can make vents, but here 75F is a scorcher.

I just open that big vent next to my left arm. But I totally get it, I've done my time in the Sonoran desert, where you are begging for AC.

I want one too. My wife's old Tercel had one. When we lived in Bakersfield, CA (100°+ in summer), that vent was always pointed up my shorts.

Maybe mod @Ak_Tacotime 's mod for a crotch vent.

I bet I could find the parts in a junk yard and just modify mine. Would require taking most of the dash apart.... very do able, but I'll have to wait until it isn't 110º out. Maybe in December, I would just swap it out of the 4Runner, but my wife would kill me, she loves it as much as I do. I have the service manuals, so maybe I will be to figure to out.

Maybe not as much as you think. The vent on the far left of the steering wheel is fed by a pipe that runs under the steering column. At most it would porbably be something like this.

Can get to this state in less than a half hour.

Making something outta nothing, :welder: Found a cheap topper online, but it was for the earlier generation of toyota, 92?ish Dunno, the angle was wrong for the cab and it didn't match up right, too much of a gap.

So I mange to talk her down from the lofty price of 100 to 50. (hahaha yes!) A little creative cutting with the whizz wheel, a some wood here, a screw there, some silicone.. Survived a few winters so far, I've seen a few feet of snow on top of it, and she's still holding.
