Oh and OP.. sounds kinda like you have made your mind pu for the most part. I would not do the F-250, but that is me and it just really does not suit my needs or taste.

Best advice, decide what you want for you (screw everyone else), decide what you can afford to do (weigh every foreseeable item and add extra cost 'cause ther is something you winn not anticipate), then do whatever your heart and mind can talk your wallet into.

Shit that means I need to go to the store now. So, which vehicle to take? TW Should I drive my 3rd gen or the wife's outback. As we all know from TW, I may not make it to the store in my 3rd gen, but if I drive the outback, I will be seen as a lesbian.

If it was diesel I'd say yes. Tacoma is more versatile in every way but towing.

Do you need to know, or care?
Too much truck for me, but the price looks decent enough.

Top two favorite things about my Tacoma are (1) tire-burning torque and (2) butt & back fans in my seats.

There definitely are ways to have your cake & eat it too.

It is the base model though so I don't have high expectations for the interior. The exterior looks good for a base model. It would look good with 25% window tint on all the windows. That cabin space is huge.
OP, if you do this I would try to sell the Tacoma privately on Craigslist, listing it on car gurus, or listing it here. You will reduce the damage on selling a brand new truck for another brand new truck.
Dealership is probably going to give you $28-31k as a trade depending on the options of your truck and you could probably get $3-4K more selling it privately.

Seats: Katzkin Degreez 2-tone perforated leather heated & cooled

I'd only keep the Tacoma if you need a small truck. If not then go for it!

Ya man, I am waiting for the OVTune or Magnuson SC if it actually comes out. Definitely going to solve the problem. I had not heard of the Katzskins seats. Good find on that.

I always wonder why people here buy a midsize truck when they needed a fullsize or bigger? A tacoma and a f250 are completely different trucks and segments.

Well isn't towing the same thing?o_O

Yeah hey OP- I traded my 16 Taco for a 16 Silverado. I took a very small hit- $2,000 when I traded. But I had 14,000 miles on the Taco.

If you need a bigger truck, get a bigger truck.

And that is an awesome price on that rig.

An XL Gas is not worth $45k period.

ford usually can go as alow as $15k off sticker. I've never paid less than $12k off sticker.

Just another reminder of how VASTLY overpriced trucks are.

Wow.. AC seats? This is the type of stuff I don't understand.

The Tacoma isn't and has never been that type of vehicle. Compared to my 2nd gen, I feel like there is just way too much going on in my 2017. I got the premium JBL package, and that is my biggest regret. I don't need all these fancy pancy stuff in my truck.

That foo-foo stuff is for the Full Size trucks in my opinion.

I don't base a vehicle purchase on a monthly payment but rather what the price of the vehicle OTD is. With vehicle loans being able to extend out 120 months I'm sure you can get a monthly payment substantially less that what you currently pay but that is irrelevant.

With that if you like the truck get it. But realize with any vehicle you finance you are not getting a deal you are only getting debt and insult to injury its an item that decreases in value daily.

looks like yours is a diesel though. the gas will not be double mpg. im shocked that yours is double mpg because we have one at work diesel and it gets 21 hyw no load and 16 in town not load. mixed no load is about 19. I know the 17 Tacoma will be at least the same average. now a gas model I can assure you wont get better than 17 hyw and about 13 city. But to OP if you want a full size then they are more room and stuff if that is what u want. Now for me the tundra is more comfortable and sure don't need 3/4 ton and price is only like 3k more for crew max. Mpg is about 15 average but wont fit in garage hard to park in city and even drive on so many narrow city streets. just me and wife and I commute 80 miles a day and put 33k a year on miles. Smaller truck isn't as comfortable and don't carry as many people or tow as much but I don't have any of those issues. I want to run down dirt roads go to lake and wont tow over 4k. so to me it not the money it cost but what I like best and what fits us.
