There is a flap at the base of the hinge. The outside flap has Velcro on the vertical sides and there is an inside flap that just sits in place. Open the tent, adjust the Velcro, and smooth out the inside flap. Its not 100% sealed but I've never had any creepy crawlers wander inside once the tent is set up.

Good idea. I went today and picked up my Mt Ranier Summit series! Crystal, Ty and Ian were there today and helped me self-install in the parking lot. It's worth the drive and the scenery of Dechuttes and the Willamette valley forest is breathtaking. Here are some pics post install. Wasn't able to get good pics of it deployed since it was dark when I got home.

The wife is from Wyoming. She hated all the rain in pdx. I like the heat and sunshine but miss the rain.

    stuff
Wanted to give an update on this, as another example of Cascadia Tents great customer service:

I finally got this repair completed by an outdoor equipment repair shop in Boulder, CO earlier this month. They didn't give me a 'conventional receipt', but just a tag with my name on it, a description of the repair, and the cost.

I scanned and sent the 'receipt' to CVT, and they cut and sent me a check within a couple days.

Thank you CVT, Bobby, and Jamie. I am so glad to be a part of the CVT family! Now heading out for another long weekend camping!!

Is it worth trading in an older CVT tent for a new one?

Same. I had my tent 3 years and never had a bug. I am irrationally horrified of bugs too so it would be a deal breaker for me.

Old post, but I had a Rainier for 5 or 6 years and bought a Summit Denali this spring. Both were/are great tents. I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

    (where'd everyone go?)

Would anybody be able to tell me the measurements for the foam mattress in a Shasta? I know the 56 x 96 footprint measurement of the tent itself, but I'm looking for a more precise measurement for the mattress and its cover. I'm getting some extra foam cut for the tent.

    Thanks.
