I believe in skids and sliders and refuse to take my wife and her 4 runner out till we add skids to her sliders. Only plan on doing simple trails, but I've seen easy trails get sketchy.
However things that stay in my truck at all times are
    Air compressor with tire gauge
    Bug spray
    Survival knife
    Compass
    Zip ties
    Basic tools
    Small first aid kit
    Blanket
    Recovery gear
    Water filtration straws
    Flash light and head lamp
Toilet paper if not two rolls
    Impact wrench
    Torch
    Tarps
    Hand gun and ammo
    Hatchet
    Saw
    Jumper cables
    Portable car starter/battery charger
    Ham radio

If it's just a day trip then I try to always have extra water, wife, the dogs, snacks or bread and pb&j
Change of clothes and extra shoes

Anything longer than a day the camping supplies come into play

GOD is GREAT guys. I just got off the phone with my agent at Allstate, and we were discussing starting the claim from the rat. I expressed all my concerns, and I feel good about this. The best part is, I asked about my deductible, and since this falls under comprehensive, my deductible is $0. I've been sweating about where I was going to come up with the money for the deductible and had the magic number of $500 in my head.

They'll cover it and it's a $0 comprehensive deductible? You really are in good luck with that situation. Good to hear it's working out.

YES I am. Unless I misunderstood him. Thinking back to when my truck was broken in to, I didn't pay anything either, that I recall.

I would suggest, trying to get a snatch block at some point, along with a tree saver strap. If you got a steel cable line, make sure you have something heavy enough(an extra strap will work) to use as a damper, in case that line snaps.

I've watched this video a few times. I believe its pretty helpful and knowledgeable.

@GreeGunc to add what Dave said if you can afford all that do that along with swapping to synthetic cable. Steel sucks compared to synthetic.

I actually have synthetic line on my winch, a snack block, and 2 pipe straps that my dad gave me. Not sure how much they'll hold but they are really thick. Thick enough to use as tree straps, also a strap my friend gave me that they used on their tow truck.

Looking into the deadman offroad anchor that I've seen on Instagram, seems way better than other ways to try to get out. Also a shovel, like the crazy beaver shovel thwy have as well but $70 is kinda steep for a dam shovel

    What’s going on in woodstock?

Is anyone planning to attend 4Wheel Parts show at Cobb Galleria this weekend? Haven’t been and figured it’s a good way to kill time. Best part is, it’s $0 admission

I'm working both days this weekend and I'm trying to figure out how to get by there. Maybe I'll go before work. I don't know.

Uh oh- my second job that has a lot of downtime unblocked TacomaWorld. I had saved so much money after they initially blocked it and now it's back.. this could be dangerous.

Nice. This may be 100% wrong, but I think most policies for things like that considered "acts of god", the deductible is usually $0...things like tree limbs falling, hitting a deer, and apparently a rat infestation. Again, I could be wrong.

If it weren't so far, I'd be there.
