    Hey guys I just picked up a 1st gen tacoma and I'm looking to go turbo. Anyone one here done it and has some advice? Also looking for some new motormounts. Any recommendations? I'm trying to make some more power any advice

    1st advice is learn to work the search feature and find what's already here.

    2nd advice is to state the purpose of the 'more power'. While both SC and turbo make boost, they don't work the same, so the best choice is predicated on how you'll use the truck.

    3rd advice is to state what you think a budget is, and what other components you think will have to be upgraded to support the new found power.

    3.5, tell us what experience you have in such matters. Hands on, not magazine or 'I heard' or 'my buddy has'.

    4th advice is to state what the actual platform is (not just a year) and the health of the engine

    5th advice, if you don't know the health of the engine, is to do a full compression / leak down test and send an oil sample off to Blackstone. Boost may be fine, or it may be what pushes a lame duck to the dump.

    6th advice. Well, guess actually. Take whatever you think the budget needs to be, and triple it. Most people pick way to low, as they are enamored with eBay grade kits. Which aren't.
