Today I just replaced all 4 factory speakers with Kickers in my 2017 non JBL taco. 6x9 up front and 6.5 in the rear. I got all the speakers with speaker adaptor and speaker connectors from Crutchfield shipped to my house for $135. It sounds better then the way over priced JBL package they sell!!

Well worth the money and very easy to do. It makes a huge difference up front! not so much in the back as the near speakers are more for fill.

What did you do with the front speakers/tweeters? Take them out and just bypass to the front 6x9's that you installed? Which Kicker models did you get?

So, on the Gen3 Tacomas, they wired the front dash tweeters to the front door speakers.

My question is what did folks do if they changed out all the speakers, do you have to do anything fancy to the front dash speaker wiring to make sure everything still works?

I took out the dash speakers/tweeters and replaced them with speakers that Subaru makes as an upgrade. There kicker brand and plug and play and they work in the tacoma also..I can't remember the model kickers i got, but if you go on crutchfields web site there like $50 for the 6.5 and $90 for the 6x9

I found the discussion on the Kicker tweeters and bought those. Before I found that info, I had bought some from Crutchfield and did not have a wiring harness, so was trying to find out what to do. I found a harness through ********* and then these tweeters, so I decided to go w/ the Kickers. Installing this weekend, so hopefully I'll have some pictures to post.
