Hey everyone, I decided to step up to 17" wheels, and in doing so, will need to buy new tires too. So, I've got four BFG AT's 285.75.16 that I'm willing to part with cheap. Conservative estimate puts them about 35% tread remaining but would make a decent option for those looking for something more city like. Anywho, they're still on my truck until the new rubber comes in (hence why I didn't post in the Classifieds just yet). Feel free to PM if you need details.

"Greasy boobs" just doesnt sit well with me.

As far as the Burris is concerned. Good deals are often a gateway to impulse buys IMO. I have aquired plenty of stuff to prove it.

Were it me. Pass on the combined unit setup and purchase single items that fulfill the role.

    Scope that scopes.
    Rangefinder that rangefinds.

Atleast that way you dont have to use the rifle at the golf course to chck distance to 18th hole.

Look into a scope that utilizes mildots or similar.

would make golf more fun though :D but i do have a cheap rangefinder for that.

The appeal to the burris is you add in your bullet data and it has built in drop compensation. And it's only 150 more than the Nikon scope I've been eyeing. I've been looking at them since the first gen one came out years ago and this is the third gen model... wait... if this site has taught me anything... I shouldn't get a third gen right?!?!

That sounds like the lazy way out. Go old school and make a ballistics chart for your rifle/ammo setup. Tape it to side of rifle. Instant range cred. Plus no need for batteries.

True. I'm looking at a different Nikoplex scope too. or may go the opposite and get a new rifle first and reuse a scope for now. always tough decisions :D

    Value on firearms rarely diminishes.

Optics are like computers...outdated before they hit the shelf.

with optics, for me anyway, as long as it has great glass it's shelf life is vastly extended. secondary being reticle design/layout. Using an older Nikon now on my deer rifle that has a BDC reticle. But is outdated and I want to step up to a 50mm scope. and now the new BDC reticle are fixed plane. no matter the magnification, the dots are the same. Mine it varies on magnification. but I always keep a chart with it for reference.

As for rifle, my current deer rifle is actually my dads, old savage 30-06. I'd like to give it back someday (since I've been using it for almost 15 or more years), So I'm eyeballing a new Tika T3X Hunter or Browning X-Bolt in .300 wsm.

Such is the joy of buying new things. Always so many options and pros/cons.
