Harry this is the second copy paste I've seen and for the most part is inaccurate with lifts up to 3". Where is your info coming from?

Except for needle bearing replacements and alignments that is about all you need to do with the lift.

OP. Always research and take what people say with a grain of salt. Welcome.

What terrible advice. There are plenty of great things on this website, like why you shouldn't run spacer and block lifts, mods, help with recalls and fixes, you're here aren't you?

I'm sure he's not meaning everything, literally. More of, the complainers and non sense involved with it.

Heck, if this truck OP acquired will be on the road 99% of the time, honestly there is nothing wrong with a spacer and block lift. Many many folks run it, including some of the members on this forum.

Yes I agree, this site does offer some good info here and there. But the complainers outweigh the tech hands down.

OP, you do not have to throw grands into your suspension. Read around for a bit and decide what's best for YOUR needs. It's your wallet, not mines or theirs. Whatever makes you happy is what it's all about, and of course, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask if you can't find the answer clearly after a quick search ;)

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new Tacoma!

This is a great site all around and for information, its really simple to just not click on a Thread that these so called complainers started or also just to simply ignore.

It's very simple to just sell your truck instead of bitch about it as well. I ain't gonna drop names, but we all see it.

If you're gonna drop an opinion, also drop in some advice for the OP as well

Hi Joe. I just copy and paste, because it is easier than retyping (I just had rotator cuff surgery).

I know the masses say that small lifts do not make a difference. This is mostly because people do not understand the dynamic moments of their suspension and/or do not understand how multiple universal joints (not constant velocity) work. However, stating that the geometry will not degrade, with lower lifts than 3 inches is simply not true. Any ride height change warrants geometry corrections in both the front and/or rear end.

Now, the question is: can you get away with a 2 inch lift (for example) without nuisances? Maybe. However, you will have undone some of Toyota's engineering and introduced some added vibrations in the rear drivetrain (whether you can feel it or not) and you would have messed up the vehicles roll centers, camber gain schemes, and bump steer setup. These can not get fixed with a 4 wheel alignment either. They require expensive , added hardware that can cost a lot.

    Would you agree Joe?

I am not trying to out wit anyone here, but rather to share some of what I have learned over the years.

Hopefully, I am not offending you Joe.

Agreed. One just needs to know how to distill and filter for good information.
