So I didn't even know that the whole post didn't go through. I was going to fix it and act like nothing ever happened, but I basically came back to a shitstorm. Just decided to started over instead of trying to clean that thread up. Messaged a mod to delete it so it should be gone sometime today.

Good luck with sale. I posted mine for that much on Craigslist and sold it within a few days for asking price.

Thanks! I've got it posted also on OverlandBound, Craigslist, and Instagram, so here's hoping that it's gone by next week. Would love to get started on the new one next weekend.

Here we go. Bed Rack 2.0 is finally under way. Angle iron is where I want it and all of tubes for the main frame and legs are cut a tad bit long for reasons.

Tomorrow, I'm hoping to start tacking and welding everything together as well as get the holes drilled for the tent. If all goes smoothly, I should be throwing primer on tomorrow night at the soonest.

I love your truck, man. Sorry if I missed it somewhere else in your thread, but how have the stock gears treated you with the 33's? I really want to step up to 33's but I haven't been sure if I will need to re-gear at the same time, or if I can get by on stock gears for a little while.

I've been fine with the 4.10s. I'm totally fine with 2200rpms @ 70mph, could be a bit better, but I don't do a whole lot of highway driving right now so I'm not to worried about it. Off-road has been fine. Lower gearing would help with crawling, but I'm not heavy on the throttle so I've made it work. Maybe one day I'll regear.

Bed Rack is back in the works. For the most part it pretty much done. Just need to add a couple piece of steel so I can bolt down the tent.

Happy to have the new rack on the truck. I'm rather pleased with the height and the angles. Also changed out the straps on my Tepui to some polypropylene straps since the nylon straps basically disintegrated after one trip.

Might modify it down the road so I don't hit my head on the nylon lock nuts, but that's down the road.

Now to order a new tent cover from Tepui and call it done.

How long have you had the tent? I'm still going back and forth on an RTT or just a nice standard tent...

I've had the RTT for over a year now. I really like the RTT, but it's definitely not for everyone. Ground tents are nice especially for the hard trails where the weight of an RTT isn't welcomed, but for overlanding or the trail runs that I know my truck can go through, I like it.

Hmm yeah I'm not super concerned about weight. I was more thinking of having to break camp everytime you leave. But, I guess I'm not super familiar with how quick it is to setup and tear down an RTT.

I can set up the tent in about 2 minutes and tear down isn't to much longer. Granted, that is if I leave the sleeping bag in the tent and don't open any windows. For most trips, I usually don't open the windows or pack up the sleep bag just because it is faster that way. That being said, I'll will open the windows if I'm staying at the same campsite for multiple days, and I'll also pack the sleeping back up if I'm heading home.

Spent this weekend in Stanislaus National Forest and ran Slick Rock on Saturday. Fun trail, great times with my dad, brother, and some good folks of TW.

Next trip is to the Rubicon Trail in 2 weeks. Won't be taking my truck there just yet. Hopefully after that trip I'll get my winch installed and get back out on the trail again soon.

If I'm honest, the trail is pretty tame right now. If you have the essentials (sliders, skids, lift, bigger tires), you'll make it through. A locker also makes a world of a difference for a few parts where you can get all twisted up.

The FJC belongs to my dad. It's definitely a work of art. One day my Tacoma will be there. ;)
