Hahaha. I've been using a plastic water bottle for that too. I'll share a better alternative when I find one.

So how does using an air powered grease gun save me money on maintenance? Inquiring minds etc.

Here is mini hose clamp on my EZ Valve. the valve opens by pulling the lever outward and then you slide it to the side. The hose clamp keeps the lever from pulling out. Picture below is Fumoto on wife's Lexus; same principle. Clamps are 14-16mm.

    Same as everybody else...
I've had a fumoto valve on my truck for awhile and I love it. My only gripe is that it takes a lot longer for the oil to drain but that gives me time to check stuff under the truck.

I second the filter wrench and fumoto valve. Both has spared me saying a lot of bad words over the years

I use some 1/4" ID hose. About 3.5' long. I attach it to the nipple under the filter housing, and snake it down to the oil drain pan. I have a little OCD though. I'll heat up the system and let it drain for hours.

And I bought the case of ten filters from some dealer out of FL. Worked out to about $4.59 per filter & came with 10 of the blue fiber washers.

If you want to save $$$ on oil changes don't buy OEM. Buy high quality oil and filters so you can drastically reduce the amount of oil changes you need to do.

OEM is a high quality filter. Probably better than most on the shelf at your local auto parts store.

Maybe it is, but without running multiple oil analyses on it at different intervals I wouldn't run it for 20k miles. I'd pick a filter designed for 20k.

Like Lester Lugnut said, you save money by doing the work yourself and staying away from dealerships and/or your local mechanic's shop

And +1 about using OEM oil filters. I read a thread a few years ago (pretty sure it's the one TacoGlenn shared) about how much better the OEM filters really are compared to the aftermarket ones. I've been using OEM ever since. I've actually never had an aftermarket one installed in my taco before. OEM oil filters all the way.
