I have Gen 1 and 2 Tacomas- both had Duratracs but I swapped out the Gen 2's for Cooper A/T3s. So far so good. Certainly quieter (but also much newer) with no noticeable loss in traction.

Now the Gen 1 needs tires so looking again at Cooper but trying to decide between the A/T3's and ATP's and even more aggressive S/T Maxx. Use is for 80% street 20% offroad (sand).
    Advice and/or experience appreciated.

I have the ATP's on a truck right now- good looking tire, wears well, good grip- only drawback if they are noisy compared to the BFG's I had on the truck previously.

I got the ATP's on my double cab. Great traction, tough tire, and noisey when they get wear.

ATP's sound good (no pun). The good news is the truck is the Bahamas so mileage and wear will stay low.

Also ran ATP's when I got my truck in factory sizing. Definitely liked them, but when I went up to 265-75-16 I replaced with BFG...which I did like much better.

Which model BFG? I think I have 265/70-16 on there now.

all terrain ko2. less noise than the atp, yet traction was similar in rain/snow/mud.

I run BFG km's or km2's on my toys and love them. Aggressive AF and surprisingly quiet and hold a good life.

I was deciding between ATP's and KO2's my last go round. I went KO2's and could not be happier. I have around 20k on them and they are smooth, quiet, and have worn very well. I should get 50k out of them. The KO2's are much better than the older KO's.

Thanks. They are 75's. its are hard get even tire wear here (Nassau ) because the roads are quite domed to allow the rain, heavy at times, to run off. IMG_2087.jpg

I ran duratracs prior to my atps (on a different vehicle) which I did like. I'd probably go with those again over the atp's or at3's. I never used st maxx tires, however I'm not opposed to them in the 255-85-16s. The 265-75 gives you tons of different options for tires. As far as pricing vs performance, the general at2 is competitive to the atp/at3 which I would also purchase over either of the two coopers.
