Heya gang. I just received my quick fist clamps, shovel and axe. I purchased t-bolts (these things fit perfectly in the track system!). I soon realized that I didn't have the clearance with my tonneau cover on my 2017 tacoma. Bummer. The struggle is REAL. I'm going out tomorrow to find some steel plates (4" or so) to drill 3/8" holes into to lower the suspension of the quick grips beneath the cover. Only solution I can think of.

Has anyone already been on this endeavor? If so, I'd like to hear other possible solutions. If not, I'll definitely post about the progress and pics.

Yeah man i make and sell brackets that will allow the ax and shovel to be mounted under a bed cover.

I've got the Tuxedo Lo Pro cover. I purchased the t-nuts and got misc materials from Home Depot. Just measure before you do any cutting or drilling.

Thank you Rico853. I followed your lead. Bought the t-nuts on Amazon, then got steel bars with holes predrilled (same stuff you use for your garage door opener), cut them to size, spray painted the nuts, bolts, washers flat black and baked them to really set the paint. The nice part about the predrilled metal strips is that I can change the orientation of the clamps if needed. Solid build. I'll post pics soon. Thanks again all!
