I started buying brand new Toyota trucks and suvs in 1983 including over two dozen Toyota pick ups, hillux/delux/Tacoma/4Runners my turd gen 2017 Tacoma was the worst Toyota and the worst new vehicle I have ever owned. It had more problems, dealer visits , weird quirks and worst seating position than any new car I have ever owned. really hoping they get the Tacoma back on track for 2018 maybe I'll try it again someday.

You have to understand with more technology, bells/whistles, features, etc in a 2017 vehicle, statsically there will be more quirks and issues compared to a 1983.

LOL - My wife, who rarely gives a car or truck a second look, told me that she would refuse to ride with me if I bought a Ridgeline.

Exactly. I was taught to handle any and all challenges in life head on. The internet gives some people the ability to virtually stick their fingers in their ears and sing "lalalalala" instead of figuring out what's going on and fixing it. I don't even ignore people in real life lol. Well, I do, but I know if I keep nodding my head and saying "uh huh, uh huh," they will think I'm not thinking about anything other than the topic of conversation...

How can people not figure this out? If it's a weep chances are high that they can go years without adding any fluid!

You have to understand, it's not the technology part that I had any problem with. As a matter fact this Tacoma was the base model that actually had less bells and whistles than my previous Toyotas say in the last 10 years it did not even have cruise control it did not have intermittent wipers it did not have keyless entry. I mean stripped. No the problems were front body mounts, interior rattles , leaking rear diff ,loose ubolts , lower control arm howl, driver side front axle vibrating, bed misalignment, hood separation , squeaky rear leaf springs, plus etc ...None of that has anything to do with technology just poor quality.

That is funny. I have a brother that is not into cars at all, but he is thinking about getting a truck. He is typically a practicality trumps all kind of guy. I said people with ridgelines love them, to which he responded hell no not in a million years.

The worlds most desired and eclusive coffee is made from the turds of civets that have digested coffee beans.

When I think "turd gen" I think of that coffee and smile smugly knowing my truck is the best. ;)

I have both, 2nd and 3rd gen. While I loved my 2nd unconditionally since it was delivered, on the 3rd gen I had to throw over $4.5 k to get it to 100% love. It's true that it's only personal preference, however I'm not comparing two different trim levels. I own a 2014 Baja TX and a 2017 TRD PRO. I never felt that I need to upgrade anything on the 2014 but on my 2017 I upgraded the wheels, sound system, tires, intake and the exhaust to get it where I want it. There are a lot of other extra added to it, but none of them were intended to replace anything from the factory.
