If your doing this with Brand New springs it might work.

Then you have no idea just how much this is going to change how the vehicle will sit

Old springs your changing just how they flex only a matter of time till they fail

Some of us got good springs that don't sag for whatever reason. My '01 is at least an inch higher in the back too.

My truck sits right about level now that the 881 coils have worn in. I don't put much of a load on the back end of my truck so I figured I could remove the support leaf. Not to sure I want to right now but looking at ways to do it for the future.

Better rear suspension articulation with the overload spring removed.
I've retained mine as I still put 1,000+ lbs in the bed on occasion...

You can achieve that just adding weight to the bed ;)

Aren't they there to prevent the leafs from negative arching? Reduce metal fatigue from overflexing?

If you choose to remove the overload leaf, use new U-bolts during installation...

Theyre there to prevent bottoming with a heavy load. The leafs are designed to go into negative arch to the point of hitting the bumps without excessive fatigue.

Will 2000 Tacoma sr5 leaf springs fit on a 2000 Tacoma prerunner?

the leafs have to be from the 6-bolt 4wd/PreRunner SR5. Not the 5-bolt 2wd.

also judging by the original pic you have a serious bro-lean going on by now. those stock leafs fade fast if you put any weight on them.
