i have a 2013 tacoma manual 6speed DCSB. Got it pretty recently with 45k on it. It has a lifetime powertrain warranty and lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. With that being said I'm having a hard time thinking it's a good idea to put a lift on it since it's got a lifetime warranty. I just hate to have something break then be told the lift caused the problem. Obviously I'm gonna make this truck my own and put what I want on but really just thinking about a lift I guess lol.

Haha. My truck was brand new when I lifted it. Do it right and there are no regrets! Don't let fear paralyze you into indecision if it is what you want to do. It's a machine and it can be customized any way you wish. It's only money, haha.

Mod it, I lifted mine when it only had 300 miles on it. Now it's still under warranty and I do use it off road.

If you're looking to stay stock or not spend any cash on the truck, then you're in the wrong place. TW will drain your wallet in a heartbeat.

Really won't matter what we all say..:gossip:
We are not the ones you have warranty agreement with.

Have you talked to dealer about warranty/lift issues? (Get it in writting) and
Maybe have them do the lift.. Even if you pay a little more just to keep warranty. :notsure:

For me it was all about what I am using it for. Drove my truck stock for the first 3 months, and was thinking "Nah, I don't need a lift, I'll just throw some 265s and sliders on it and call it a day." Then I took it wheeling on one of my favorite trails, and the damn thing was bouncing all over the place because of how soft the suspension was (I have an OR), and I was hitting stuff on the underside and scraping some too, because I didn't have great articulation. That was what solidified the lift for me.

Mod it when you know what needs to be done to make it better for how you use the truck.

Understand how each particular mod may or may not impact the warranty.

Curious who the provider of these 'lifetime' warranties are? An aftermarket carrier?

If so, their rules for claims are much more stringent in most cases than OE warranties. They live to deny.

It's not just a 'lift' that solves issues like that. It's a choice of quality parts.

There are way many 'lifts' that happen with folks around here that would be as bad or worse driving in the situation you describe.

That's a very good point. Do it right the first time, or spend more money overall by doing it incorrectly and learning from your mistakes.

Sidenote: I just got back from a 2,600-mile road trip, and my truck was so damn comfy the whole time. It sat happily at 90-100mph - errr, I mean, whatever the posted speed limits always were. Yeah. That. It really is all about the parts you choose.

op we are the wrong people to be asking about not modding your truck.

I was dead set on keeping mine stock when I first got it too but then tw gave me a terminal case of mod fever and you can see below where that ended...
