I do all the cooking at my house and have for over 20 years. I like to eat and by doing the cooking, I cook what I want to eat. So I thought this might be an interesting thread as I didn't see another one similar on TW. How many of you guys "and gals" cook each night? Or maybe help the significant other in your cook Dinner? Let's see your pics, whether you did it all the work or just helped.

As the wife was working last night and I was home alone with no need to cook.

Here is something I cooked one night last week. I baked some chicken, made gravy
and fried up some Summer quash.

Good thread idea... I cook every single night. I am, these days, trying to pre-plan more of what I want during the week so i can shop ahead of time... it's become an expensive habit to stop at the grocery every night after work. But, as a bachelor, it was like fck it, I'm having what I want when I want it and I had plenty of money to do it. Now with my girlfriend living with me, it's a bit more complicated. Still trying to get over my aversion to freezing stuff... got the freezer, now just need to plan smart and fill it up.

I totally understand the stopping at the Grocery store every night. I do it almost any time we are both off. As I cook I do all the shopping normally on Sunday's.
That way I can buy what I want to cook for the week.

Between the wife and I, we cook every night. She has done the heavy lifting during the week since I've been back in school, but I try to put the smokers to work making amends on the weekends.

I like these kind of threads for getting dinner ideas.

My favorite weekday dinner is spaghetti. I can make a huge pot of that and eat it for lunch most of the week (today I had to settle for those extra pork belly burnt ends ;)). Come to think of it, I think we have a little ground venison and ground beef thawed and ready to cook tonight.

OP, maybe you should add "or tonight" to thread title, might get more play.

Good idea. I can edit an original post it's self but haven't figured out how to edit a title. Do you or anyone know how to edit the title?

I usually have to wait until a little later to grocery shop as in NC you cannot buy alcohol til after 12:00 on Sunday's. And I have to pick up a beer or 3 :anonymous:
But as of last night they voted yes changed the law to 10:00 am on Sunday's effective immediately.

Spaghetti! We rarely cook though. It's cheaper for us to eat out at this point in life. When the daughter gets old enough that she doesn't share with us we will start cooking more.

You sure can make spaghetti go a long way. Ground venison and beef? Sounds like a good start to a pot of Chili. That'll go a long way too. :hungry:

Made Buffalo Chicken Wraps last night for Dinner and for those of us in the South "Supper"
Nothing fancy but we like em. I use paper plates often because after working 10-11 hours a day and then cooking....I'm not much on cleaning up.

When the weather cools off, I start to transition to chili, for sure.

Grilled a whole butterflied chicken this weekend. Turned out incredible. I cooked over indirect heat most of the time. Skin side up with thighs closest to the heat for 45 mins and breasts towards the flame skin side down for 20 minutes. 5.5lb bird at 350-400F.
