My wife hasn't a clue what a transmission is. Never once has she ever complained about how the car "shifted".

Not sure about the gen 1 Prius....but the gen 2, 3 and 4 have always had a CVT. There are Prius running around with 200k+ miles on them....going strong.

The wife's ride. And she drives it pretty hard.

Id take in what everyone is saying. Test drive a Corolla for a (day) and decide for yourself. You cant beat their reliability. Also had a 12 Subaru Forester. Never felt the love for that car either. Wasn't around very long. Good luck.

Sounds like the way to go.
While my Sienna was in the shop they gave me a Camry for a loaner.
Thats also a really nice driving car.
I also just remembered with the new Corolla backing up is a pain because of the high back window and rear pillars. The rear camera helps but your vision is still obstructed when you are trying to back out of parking spaces. Thats scary. Maybe Im being to hard on them. Good luck.

There's your problem...backing out of parking spaces! Back into parking spaces...make others wait for you.

Color matched door handles, Weathertech floor liners, bed mat, Durafit seat covers, tailgate clamp, 2016 TRD Sport 17" wheels with Yokohama Geolander AT tires , Toyota exhaust tip, Toyota/Yakima bike rail mount, Toyota wheel locks, Toyota hitch cover, Redline hood struts, unifilter on air pump.
Get a Camry for not much more. My wife's 2016 4 cyl has plenty of power and the smoothest 6 speed auto I've ever driven. She averages about 30 mpgs and right now they have 0% interest and rebates. JMO.

I'll agree that you can get Camry LE for not much more. But for about the cost of the Camry, you can get a loaded Corolla XSE with all power options, leather, Entune/navigation, alloy wheels, moonroof for about the price of a Camry LE with cloth, hubcaps and no moonroof, etc.

So it boils down to options. For about the same money....do you want options or do you want a little more interior room.

I will say this....Toyota has a bunch of money on the hood of '17 Camry.

Wife bought a 16'. I personally love it, very quick shifting, great mileage doesn't have that dead to life CVT feel from the past. I definitely prefer it over the slush box they had in the older cars.
