I've got a similar problem going on with one of my turn signals right now. The passenger blinker flashes very fast. But the hazards work fine.

My bet is this fuse is blown.

    turn_fuse.jpg

It is inside the cabin in driver side lower dash panel (under the plastic cover) above the hood release lever .

If hazards work (which are powered by Hazard/Horn fuse) then the flasher is fine. Yes, hazard and signals are the same bulbs and same flasher but these circuits are powered from different places.

Sorry: missed it by 6 minutes

Which one is fast - front or rear? If front, you have burned (or disconnected) rear bulb and vice versa.

Flasher goes into hyper blinking if the current taken is less than equivalent of two bulbs. If one bulb is burned then signal will make it hyper-flashing because the flasher sees only one bulb, but hazard will not make it blink fast as flasher will see three bulbs. Hazard will go into hyper-flashing if three out of four signal bulbs are burned.

If rear is still blinking (fast) than your problem is not flasher nor fuse related. Just replace that damn burned bulb before you get a ticket. :)

If you are annoyed by hyper flashing and don't bother to change the bulb you can get LED compatible flasher, it doesn't care how many bulbs are burned. I got this one:

for 10 bucks or so at Autozone. I hate these damn resistors.
