Shooting was real fun! We blew through 500 rounds of .22lr on their plinking range which was lots of fun. Great day man!

I washed the truck yesterday but didn't do the outside completely since it was damn hot!

I need to swing your hilift by at some point

Luckily didn't need it! Could have used a backup battery or a jump starter since the battery died in the forest

It was silly and we ended up riding 14 miles to find a local for some help. Pretty crazy... had me worried for a bit but it all worked out

We made some memories, had an epic ride, and met a nice local who saved our asses. It did however also change our plans since that was meant to be our travel day up the first section of the enchanted Rockies trail. All good though, we had a blast

7/31/17 - We made our way from Dallas to Monahans Sandhills State Park in Monahans, TX. This was about a 6 hour drive west of Dallas and a good spot to break up the long drive. When we arrived, I was taken back by the scope of the sand dunes! I havent seen anything like this and so it was pretty crazy. It was hot but we managed and it cooled off nicely in the evening. We were able to see storms off in the distance which later moved over the SP. It dumped rain for about 9 hours! The area gets 12" of rain a year, and during the night, it got about 1-2". We woke up, packed and headed NW to Guadalupe Mountains National Park, our first National Park!

8/1/17 - After packing up a wet campsite, we made our way NW to Guadalupe Mountains National Park. This was my first time in this part of Texas and my first time at any National Park! It was an enjoyable drive gaining elevation to about 5600'. We made it to the Pine Springs Campgrounds at GUMO and were immediately blown away by the the mountains towering over the camp site. These were actual mountains and not those hills we have near Austin. The trip is taking a more rugged turn each day as we venture further and further away from our comfort zone

Nice looking set-up. Anything stand out on things you still need or even didn't need as far as gear and such?

Thanks man! Yeah, gear wise I realized I have brought too much stuff. Much of it are things we would need in case other things happened... so I learned I need to reorganize my bins to have one with all the things I use at every camp, and the other for everything else.

The other thing I need to change, is the use of the Tailgaterz hanging kitchen organizer (https://www.amazon.com/Tailgaterz-Hang-N-Haul-Organizer/dp/B00UBF7MUK). This thing is great when you are setup for a few days, but if you are changing location daily, then its kind of a pain. If you need just one item, you have to take out and unroll the whole thing. We ended up using 2 bowls, 2 cups, and 2 spoons mostly so we located those items into the bin on the drivers side for ease of access.

Things I need now include a 2nd battery or some type of a jump starter device. I let the battery die when we were in the Lincoln National Forest, about 14 miles from the closest "town". We had our bikes and rode out to find a local who helped tremendously by hauling us and our bikes back into the forest for a jump start. She literally saved our asses!

Due to the sag in the rear end when the truck was fully loaded for the last trip, I went ahead and ordered the axle shims from ToyTec Lifts and the d29xl AAL from HeadStrong Off-Road. These should give me some of the lift and load capacity back that i lost when fully loaded

:woot: Looks amazing! Good to get out there too and figure out your load lists and needs. Trial by fire.

My scenery the past 6 days and next 4 are all here at work:bananadead:. Not as good as your pics.
