I would like to tow a small camp trailer w/07 Prerunner. The problem is I had a lowering kit put on that drops the truck a couple of inches. Not a low rider but a normal ride height. The shop was trying to put in some air bags, but they just will not fit w/lowering kit.

I will not remove the lowering kit to haul a trailer a couple of times. Back in the day I had air shocks on my El Camino. They were perfect for hauling extra weight occasionally.
I'm looking for some kind of air lift as an option.
A heavier rear spring is out of the question, I like the nice ride w/Bilsteins and 18" wheels.
    Any suggestions out there?

    TIA

I have Firestone RideRight air bags in my truck to help with my snowmobile trailer. The thing I like about them as opposed to heavy duty springs is the truck can be made to ride like normal when you aren't towing. But I don't know what to do if they don't fit. I think you should try a different installer, maybe a speciality shop? Because there is no magic with airbags. I would assume that if they don't fit, something should be possible to modify to make them work. Just might require some innovative thought.

You legally cannot exceed what your truck is rated for. Any mods serve to only decrease sag.

    Weight distributing hitch????

I am not exactly sure what you are truely trying to accomplish. You mention increasing load capacity by posting in a towing sub forum and vaguely mention not wanting to change the lowering kit for the few times you need to tow. I can only assume you are trying to tow and don't want your rear end too low.

WDH is the right tool for the job if I am understanding your issue. It is the safest way to tow / level your truck. Airbags or springs while great for leveling aesthetically don't fix the problem as well as a WDH in terms of towing safely with better control.

The only air bags for these trucks were not meant for the smaller clearance of the lowered springs. I'm assuming you have a spring flip where the axle is over the springs.

2nd on a weight distribution hitch...and some supple bump stops in case you end up bottoming it out.
