    Hey guys,

In the couple weeks, I'm going to be embarking on a massive road trip from Virginia to New Orleans in my new Tacoma and I was hoping to find a couple places along the way to get her dirty.

I'm heading from Northern Va to Savannah Ga, to Jacksonville FL, to Panama City, to New Orleans on the way down.

On the way back, I'm going from NOLA to Birmingham AL, to Chattanooga TN to Roanoke VA and back up to Northern Virginia.

Since my Tacoma is stock, I was hoping to find some medium-light difficulty trails somewhat along the way, preferably in national forests. I'm fine with making some 1-2 hour diversions to get to some good trails.

Also, if anybody has a master map or something along those lines, that would be great.

Look forward to hearing from y'all!

I was just out in the VA mtns, North of lynchburg. Big Levels/bald mtn jeep trail is p nice. I did it with my completely bone stock 2017 (even the original tires). banged up the running boards a little on the bottom but no biggie

I'll look into it. I'm assuming I'll be fine, but I have stock running boards on my truck so I'd rather not destroy anything too badly.

Chattanooga here. Look up Prentice Cooper WMA. Sounds like the kind of dirt you ate looking for and great views of the Tennessee river valley.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've already taken it offroad a couple times in Georgia, but I'm going to plan on taking it to Taskers Gap and Peter Mill run in Virginia. That's if I don't find anywhere else interesting along the way....

Well you haven't mentioned NC but it's nestled right in the middle of your rout, so I'm going to assume it's a viable option. I just got back from Uwharrie National Forest which is right outside of Charlotte. They have 23 miles of OHV trails. My truck is also stock other than tires and I found that it was kicking ass on the trails. I did however take off my running boards to make sure I had more clearance on the hills and rocks. I was able to hit 6 out of the 8 trails they had there (ranging in difficulty). Daniel trail is considered to be extremely difficult, but the truck was able to go on the trail from the back (NOT THE FRONT, SUPER DANGEROUS ROUT) and we turned around at the peak. The trails we hit were (from easy to difficult) Wolf Den, Falls Dam, Sawmill, Slab Pile, Rocky Mountain Loop and Daniel. With the more difficult trails you WILL need a spotter on a stock taco.

What's REALLY cool about trail riding in Uwharrie is that if you go to the ranger's office (I recommend it b/c you need to buy $5 trail pass) they will look at your truck and explain to you in detail on the trail map what trails you will clear and where on which ones to turn around.
