Has anyone done a Katzkin install on a 2015?

I have done a few installs on 2nd gen Tacomas, but my 2015 is very different. Two problems I have run into.

1. I cannot figure how to remove the plastic pieces the head rest plugs into. My 2015 has this mechanism up top for whiplash protection triggered by a wire and lumbar activator


This is looking up the back on the seat.

2. Headrest material does not pull apart. It is glued. The headrest also is not fully squishy foam, it has a plate inside and I cannot compress it enough to fit the new leather cover on.


Just seeing if anyone had these same problems when installing. I did the full Katzkin on my 2007 and none of the issues were present.

 

I'm getting ready to do mine, did you ever get an answer as to how to remedy these issues?
