I have an appt in 6 days to take a tech on a drive to demo my washboard vibes at 25-20 mph on deceleration. I just looked under my truck and I do have a thin shim installed.
** Question - Is that shim confirmation that my 2017 OR has the updated leaf springs that the TSB would call for? Or is it still possible that more could be done? Thanks

YES. 2017 DCOR. I get a constant vibration under firm acceleration in first gear only. Dealer says "normal characteristic" of truck.

As I expected, the dealer was unable to reproduce the rumble strip sensation that is so clearly evident when I drive. They said is was raining so was difficult to hear it. This was after I explained the feeling was more feel than sound.

I get this vibration when braking at a stop sign or light.

I first noticed it when I first test drive the truck, I thought it was because of the tread on the TRD-Off road tires.

I wonder why the off road isn't included in this TSB.

According to the official document, this only applies to 2wd. I've got a 2016 Sport 2wd and I definitely have these symptoms. Anyone else with a 2wd experience this?

ok, does anyone know why the rear end carrier nuts are coming loose causing the lube leak as stated in the recall. hmmm. maybe the vibration from the rumble strip effect?

I had my 16 OR 4x4 springs replaced w/new ones and a steering damper and it fixed the problem.

My lift made it better. It’s definitely a drivetrain angle problem on my truck.

I took my 2016 OR in for this issue a year before the TSB (that doesn’t include it anyway) and they said it was “Normal operation , can’t duplicate” I put the Dakar leaf packs In and it quit. It felt like axle wrap like the diff was flopping up and down. On accel and decelerating.

Had the springs installed yesterday, vibration just about all gone, still there a little, but driving home noticed the steering wheel off to the left, brought it back and supposedly aligned it.. still off a bit. gonna have to align it myself 2 maro after work, also greasy hand prints all over the interior and door.. shame.

Only 300 miles so far and already feeling a slight shudder when decelerating/braking ~20mph. At the stealer today to see if my pinion flange angle is correct per the TSB thats out...also having them check my tranny fluid per advice on this site. Will post with updates.

-Update-welp at the dealer...tranny fluid was low from the factory! Thanks to this forum...they are filling now then will check pinion flange.

Had my 20k service done at the dealer where my friend works and he looked up TSB for my OR. This one came up and I told him I this since day one and the dealer I bought it from said it was normal. It got better when I torqued the ubolts to spec but he said it's covered under warranty and my vin was part of it so he ordered the new springs. They are supposed to be here today so hopefully he can install them this weekend. It's crazy how some dealerships don't want to do any work.

Brought my '16TRDOR in today for it's 30k work. Told them about my documented 10-30 MPH vibe, and was tired of having bags of mulch in the bed to mask it. Last year when I complained, my truck wasn't on the TSB. Anyways, the leaf packs and steering wheel damper parts are on order. Hopefully this will fix it. Man, my truck drove like ass to and from the dealer without the mulch in it......

Quick note to those who had their rear leaf springs replaced... when I got mine done the squid tech didn't preload the springs!! the truck MUST be on the ground when torquing the bolts NOT on a lift!! other wise there is undo stress on the bushings and will have premature bushing failure and the wrong ride height!! FYI

Welp, just picked her up and drove home after the dealer installed the kit. Good to go, no issues. Rides like it should now!

Is this vibe what I feel at exactly 30 mph and again at 20 mph that feel like a downshift/engine brake upon deceleration/light braking? its not bad and i cant decide if its worth going through the tsb for.
